  • Parking Sensors - Front Bumpers

I have a 2006 Prado and I want to install parking sensors in Front Bumpers. My problem is powering it up. How do i connect it to the mains so that it only activates when i am parking. Connecting to Parking lights would not be practical as the sensor buzzer would sound when i am driving.

only way i could think of would be with a switch of it's own... perhaps powered off the park lights, but with an override switch?

how do the cars work that come with them?

I have fitted front sensors to a lot of Lexus's (Lexi?). Is there any reason you only need it to work when you are parking? When you are driving normally you should not be close enough to anything to set it off and if you do you are probably to close!!!

That said you can always put a switch in it with no problems
