      Gee that would be nice, Does the new satnav also have the bluetooth for the phone?? Though i am guessing it would be a lot cheaper to go all third party and still have a neat uncluttered look about it.

      I.e: Replacement 2DIN DVD head unit w/ screen. $1100 apx
      Satnav $1000 im guessing???
      Bluetooth car kit for phone. $ 600

      So just under 3k and what does the factory satnav cost?? last i heard it was around 5k?? yes or no?? some one help me out??

          Bluetooth MP3

          Hi all,

          On this subject, I think I have a pretty good solution for those with a standard GX or GLX, wanting a combination upgrade.

          I have installed the Double Din Kenwood 6039, around $1,000;

          http://www.ryda.com.au/Kenwood-DDX-6039 ... dx6039.htm

          which fits PERFECTLY with the addition of the genuine toyota end caps. This unit is an; AM/FM radio, CD / DVD Player.... & I have extended the DVD output to 2 Fleabay rear screens as well. I then bought the Kenwood / GARMIN GPS module (same as the NUVI 660), that feeds directly to the Kenwood Unit, (Great dispay size at 7 1/2 ") also around $1,000;

          http://www.ryda.com.au/Kenwood-KNA-G430 ... g430au.htm

          To that I also added the Kenwood Bluetooth car kit (great unit as the caller display and phonebook comes up on the screen, all touch screen controlled), around $230;

          http://www.ryda.com.au/Kenwood-KCA-BT10 ... abt100.htm

          and finally, the ipod interface for a further $200;

          http://www.ryda.com.au/Kenwood-KCA-IP50 ... aip500.htm

          This is a great combination setup, looks great in the dash and covers everything I need, for around $2,500. The GPS runs off an SD card so you can load your own maps and POI's.

          (No affiliation with Ryda by the way)..............

          PS: This also has an Eclipse Reversing camera with Manual override feeding to it as well.

            bugger! if i'd seen this before midnight last night i would have bought it on the spot to get it through on the last tax year!

            that's an impressive discount from 1600 to 1000!

              Gday Signiture, have you got any pics of the finished installed product ? would love to see how it looks in the dash, I see Garmin have also released a black box GPS doover, wouldnt have the integration like the KW though. Very Cool ! What is factory satnav in a Prado worth these days to upgrade a GXL from new anybody now ? The KW option looks great !

                  Hi this sounds like the go!

                  I have been looking for a 7" inch touch screen to run my nav and computer through. Sig does it have VGA input? I see where it says RGB input for navigation unit, but is it VGA?

                  I had a look at the Kenwood site and its not very clear (to me) :cry: wether it is or not.

                  Still worth thinking about though got lots of great features and I can run my IC7000 through it as well!

                          Kenwood Satnav Radio etc

                          Hey Signature, Looks good. I'm thinking of doing the same thing myself. A few questions though. How well does the Bluetooth phone work. I've been told the Kenwood bluetooth doesn't work with all phones. and also can you add additional software into the GPS ie: different maps etc

                          Thanks

                            Bluetooth is the best I have ever used. It has the ability to download your SIM into the unit so you can touch dial from the screen. It also has a LARGE number pad touch screen for making calls 'on the move' Very pleased.

                            The GPS is based on the Garmin Nuvi 660, and works off an SD card...you can activate a track log if you are off road which is usefull. As far as downloading additional sioftware.........not sure. Have a look at the Garmin site, if it can be done on the Nuvi 660, it can be done on the Kenwood. PS I have downloaded and entered all Red Light and Speed cameras, very simple to do.

                            Hope this helps.

                              Siggy I have just ordered the Kenwood 7039 with bluetooth.
                              What are the end caps you used from? A particular Toyota or just any one with non-rounded corners!
