Nokia 6120 Classic and handsfree

Hi guys, I was wondering if someone could help me out. Has anyone been able to use the Nokia 6120 classic with the Prado factory stereo. When I try and register it goes through the process until "waiting" appears on the screen and then the whole process stops. I have managed to get connected once but as soon as I pushed the off hook button the bluetooth connection drops out.
Any ideas to help out a novice?

yes i have mine connected, if you follow the user manual for the car no worries. were are you situated.

I am near Newcastle NSW, I have followed the handbook to the letter (so I thought) Unless I am doing something wrong with the phone. All I do on the phone is enter the 1234 code the stereo gives me.

I'm just about to insall a blueant kit for my prado, I also have a Nokia6120 Classic, Make sure you take your phone to the Nokia care shop to have the latest software downloaded to it, as the 6120 has echo issues when useing bluetooth handsfree, (anymake not just Nokia).
You carn't here the echo but the person you call can.
I'm going to hook up the mute wire to pin number 14 on the rear of the standard fit stereo too.

Thanks Keith. A mate of mine has the echo when I ring him and he is on his hands free. He has got a new kit, not sure of the details but that has fixed the problem, thats the solution he got from local shop, they didnt tell him a software upgrade to the phone would fix it!! They wouldnt make any money out of that.

bit far to go, if you were local i would have had a look at it for you. Not sure why you are getting drop out, maybe suggest you visit an car kit installer. also ditto on the echoing, had both of mine done last friday, no more echoing.

Ive only had my 6120classic 3 weeks, and its a work mobile, with a nokia bluetooth hands free fitted to a works ute.
The echo was really bad i rang up the supplier of my phone and he said you need to take it to nokia for the upgrade.
Went to have it done Last saturday it took 1 hour, and its crysal clear now on both sides of the conversation !!

Just checking some other forums, it appears that Version 4.21 firmware upgrade to the phone fixes the echo and also problems with the bluetooth connection dropping out when answering a call from the carkit/headset. Mine has version 3.70. How do I find a Nokia acre centre? What version firmware is yours Hutch?

Hunter, mine was upgraded last friday, but it has always worked with the prado bluetooth.
