Dear All,
I have been doing a charging circuit for a new camper and its new battery and I had a lot of trouble finding the appropriate heavy cable and well priced Anderson plugs. I have no interest in both of the companies.
The first and most helpful was discovered on ebay, but I found their website and then went out and visited. The website in www.larpro.com.au and Graeme is a single trader with occasional help from the wife. You need to call him before going over to the store as he does his own deliveries. He is on for a chat and can advise if you need it. I got my 50 amp Anderson plugs for $4.29 and then decided to go for 175 amp Andersons and paid $11.40 each, you need two. Both prices are hugely discounted and way over the $50 for the 50amp and $100 for the 175amp. He carries lots of other electrical gear as seen on his website.
The second place is Battery World at Castlehill. They have franchises all over. I got 6 B&S cable for $2.90 per metre! At that price I took the trouble of running a neg back to the battery, which some have suggested is also not necessary as the chassis connection would suffice. While it is probably over kill for the charging circuit, being 15mm2, voltage loss will be at a minimum, it will take the huge current if the battery is flat and it matches the 100 amp circuit breaker that I have installed. i needed the 175amp Andersons to match the amp capacity of the system as the 50 amp would not have cut it.
Project nearly finished.
