  • Turbo Timer Plug and Play

Hi All, I happened to pick up a new Plug and Play Turbo Timer from NewProTech. Sure beats anything else on the market, it looks like a factory install and I kid you not, it is simply unplug the existing ignition loom plug into the new supplied loom run an earth wire and I was done.

They also sell driving light switches I'm about to install 2 sets (1 for the IPF's and the second for a rear flood light). I'll post some pics in a little while.

    Link to the website: http://www.newpro-tech.com.au/gallery2.htm

{Edit} I should have mentioned you can buy these on-line, only took 2 days to arrive. Roughly $150. I have more pics from the install if anyone wants to see a complete how to let me know.

The whole install took 20 mins from start to finish. Brilliant !
    Here's the finished install.

    Sounds easy Wally.

Do you set the timer each time you want to use it, or is there a default setting that it uses every time you turn off?

    Cheers

You set the timer and it will stay that way until power down (batt disconnect). You can set it to 0 mins to turn it off.

It's that quick I removed it this morning took a pict and re-installed.

You can set the timer once and it remembers the last setting each time. When I take in for a service you can set it to 0 (zero) and it stops straight away as to not confuse the people working on it.

              Hi Wally

Are you able to use the remote to lock the doors etc... when the timer is on. Having read through other threads, this seems to be a problem??

              Thanks OAH

Hi OAH, I don't see this as a problem. You do need to use the key to lock. Once the timer turns off the immobiliser is activated automatically perhaps this was your worry.

The only way to use the remote to lock the doors is to buy an additional alarm that allows remote locking.

                Wally.

Thanks Wally, I just wanted to make sure that I could lock the car, walk away and know that it would be secure.

                  Cheers

Just remember that you are breaking the law if you leave the vehicle running and unattended.
Insurance companies also usually void insurance in this situation if found out.

                      Hi Wally,

that really looks pro. I was just about to order a Bogard from ARB.

Is there any other "side effects" ie all other electrics working OK?

Could you show the full install, especially how to take the dash bits off without breaking any plastic tabs.!

                      Cheers

                        Hi Wally

Did you gave to take the dash a part to fit it. I would love to see the photo's (and any step by step instructions). I intend to buy the same device, but am concerned that my fitting skills are such that I may have to take it to a dealer/auto electrician to fit!!

                        Thanks OAH
