  • ARB Bar Parker Globes

I’m on my 3rd set of parker globes in less than 12 months. If they weren’t so much of a PITA to replace I wouldn’t care.

Is this only me or are other's having the same experience?

What other options are there for replacement?

You can go with LED's. See thread below:

      D4D,

Mine have been in there for 4 years....... still orginal.
Wish they would blow so I had an excuse to go in an replace them with LED's

On that point, with the ARB bar, is the only wa to get at the parkers, to remove the splash guards?

        Re: ARB Bar Parker Globes

My Deluxe Winch Bar is less than one year old and have noticed that the Parkers work when they feel like it, that is when the lights are actually turned ON.
If you tap the glass they seem to work. At first glance it looks like a dodgy connection problem to me .
I've been meaning to get round to look at the back of the Parker/Indicators to check the wiring etc, but am also curious how to access the damn things. I'll be buggered if I need to remove the metal splash guards.
I would think from looking at it, the Black Plastic Surround should pop out some how, probably held in by clips.
I've also got the IPF fog light light kit aswell and have had no lighting problems with those.
I keep you posted once I've looked closely on how to remove them.

          Re: ARB Bar Parker Globes

Guys I have removed and fitted a few times. Just remove the plastic surround much easier. The light coming on and off is due to a loose connection or because the connecters (white) are not clamped properly. I recently had to put some contact cleaner and all is good now.

Just remember to use some Loctite when putting it back together and make sure the plastic surround aligns properly with the steel backing plate (can be a pain aligning it at times).

          Hope this helps.
          Cheers,

            Re: ARB Bar Parker Globes

As from my previous post. I investigated my faulty parker lights.
I only did one parker at this stage which was a blown bulb.
I couldn't believe how much work I needed to do to remove the parker/indicators.
I found that you do need to remove the metal splash guards which are several 13mm nuts and bolts.
After the guard is removed you need a 10mm socket to unscrew the 3 nuts that holds metal light bracket inside the bar to the outside black pastic surround. It would appear that the Black Plastic Surround with aid from the metal bracket inside supports the entire indicator/park and fog light assembly.
Unless you can reach around the bullbar somehow and wedge your arm through from below the headlights to unscrew those 3 nuts, I can't see any other way to gain access to parker/indicator and fog lights without having to remove the metal splash guards. Anyhow I put it all back together again, then purchased 2 x new 12V 5watt park bulbs, and cleaned up all the electrical connections which were dirty. I'll fit them in a couple of days. Although I found this simple process a bit of an effort, It was worthwhile to check out how it all comes apart and inspect other bits and pieces whilst under the front of the car.

I normally come from the top of the bullbar rather than removing the splash guards (too much effort)
Even after doing this you still need to remove the light assembly (two screws) to get the bulb out

Understood Dustie removing the 2 screws was the easy part. I guess coming in over the top is possible.
I needed to do that anyway to hold and locate the nuts on whilst I tightened the 2 front bolts for the splash guards.
Locating the 3 nuts for the light assembly is another matter though when you can't see them.
I don't know how you went but I've scratched the crap out of my forearm trying to wedge it in from over the top of the bar. Removing the Splash guards was easier to see what you were doing.

Yes, I know what you mean. I locate the nuts and then use a socket with extensions or use ratchet spanners
