  • Help please - Won't start

Just acquired my new (used) Prado and in the process of changing the location of the two way.

Removed it from it's current location last week and all good. Came to reposition today and ran out of time before finalising the location, so put evrything back together and although power reaching everything but when I turn the key all I get is the dreaded 'click'. I suspect a fuse but if anyone else can possibly help I would be most grateful as I'm a novice when it comes to electrics.

    Thanks in advance.

Rob, in my experience that dreaded click could mean one of several things.

dead starter relay, dodgey starter, low battery charge, exessive voltage drop between battery and starter, loose battery terminals.

i would personally start with checking battery terminals are secure then checck voltage. if possible check voltage as you turn the key, have had many cars show good batt voltage until start then drop below 8v due to a dead cell in battery. hope this helps

    Cheers Batto

Cheeres for the reply. Turned out to be simply a dead battery.

NTS Turn off inetrior lights when working inside the car for any length of time.
