Hi just wondering would the wiring and program be in a standard prado for downhill decent if it doesnt come with one. Would it be just a matter of fitting the switch or is there a computer issue. any thoughts

You need traction and stability control as it is part of that system. In any case the descent control on its own isn't worth the effort. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Lots more than a just an add on computer. Forget DAC it is useless. Way too fast to be useful. Or as D4D eloquently puts it: shite. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

It's a total and utter waste of time . I have it ,it's useless. All it does is use the brakes to slow you down , most of the time it's to slow and you need to accelerate down the hill which makes the car take a very unnerving leap down the hill . As I have written before it is total rubbish and I can't see any reason to even have it on the car , unless you want to stick your feet out the window and say to your friends, hey look no feet , by which time your friends will be saying hurry the f*^# up and get out of the way .03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

Agree with the others..it is shite..my experience with DAC was on a D3 discovery(I will go and hang my head in shame now)Found it was too reliant on the use of the brakes which I hated as at the bottom of the hill we were travelling down was a river crossing..after disabling all the fancy electronic controls and DRIVING the car and using the auto in manual mode I personally felt as though I had better control of the vehicle..
Just my thoughts

Traction control can be overridden by either seized pistons in the calipers or judicious use of the right foot .03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

I dunno about anybody else but I find ,as a professional driver that the really shite drivers let the car drive itself . Call me a control freak , but I like to control the vehicle .not vice versa03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !
