My 2001 1KZ TE DIESEL Prado suffered a cracked head a couple of years ago, it wasn't overheating but the obvious coolant in oil led to a head replacement.
Since the head was replaced (by qualified mechanics not Toyota) the following has since taken place.
ONLY WHEN OUTSIDE AIR TEMP IS ABOVE 30 degrees, at 100 kph HWY driving on any rise or hill the engine temp will rise rapidly and overheat also causing aircon to blow hot air. Occasionally

  4. Diesel fuel economy

    Hi all,

I am looking at ways people have improved their fuel economy.

I am driving a 90 series auto with roof racks, ATs, snorkel, 2 inch lift and am getting around 14-15L/100km.

What have you done to any diesel to help improve the economy?

    Cheers

  5. 2015 Toyota Big Brake Upgrade

I was looking for an upgrade as I was not pleased with the performance of the stock brake setup. I came across the CEIKA Website (http://ceikaperformance.com) and contacted them directly and with their expert advice, I chose to go with their Big Brake Upgrade - 8 Piston Front, 6 Piston Rear.
The kit came with everything for an easy installation.
Stopping power has increased by 100% and I am very pleased. Best decision I've made.

Thanks to Jean-Loup and Team for all ...
