This would be tempting if it came with all harnesses/computers etc. You would want to make sure it didn't run for too long if it landed on its roof though

look at that engine

yeah I spoke to the guys its been in a roll over and looked at the engine as its been left upside with engine running its Engine damaged etc

my engine only done 146,000 ks I had already bought new timing belt and was two days away from installing timing belt just bad luck there and the fault was not the timing belt more of the pressurise idler wheel seal tensioner had leaked causing loss of tension on idler wheel which had the idler wheel bouncing back and forwards till it broke !!
whats worst i was crusing at highway speed at 3000 rpm !!! it was a terrible nosie when she went !!

Theres a brand new Toyota 3 ltr on Ebay from Ballarat Toyota too. 5 k short motor :shock:

That is just really bad luck :cry:

Well Today is the day I start my Australian dream what a better way to start it on Australia day Public holiday

I have purchase a D4D and computer should get my new motor next week meantime slowly dismantling my old engine ( Blown engine ) so I will be happy to keep you all posted as well share advice and information ,

I just hope all goes well as I feel i,m going into unknown features and compatiabilty between those two great diesel engines !!

That is an ambitious project; your prado will be a special limited edition 90 series D4D. 8) 8) 8) :mrgreen:

Make sure you keep the posts going on you progress and take some pictures.
If you can complete the hole job on budget you will have a weapon of a car

Hey All gots lots of Private e mails but best if I stay tuned on here !!

The D4D project is coming along well gotta say its a little bumpy ride but fun getting the motor in !! a partly the oil sump and fly wheel are different but easily solve once I swapped it with ,my old 1kz te motor , the D4D is happily sitting in the 90 series , with approx 5 mm clearance and that with out the plastic D4D engine cover !!

I,.m now currently re arranging air filter ( y7ou can use 90 series air filter) but i,m Putting the 120 series air filter as it generally looks SEXIER !!

will have picture posted soon once someone tells me how the heck you put pictures on here

the next part will be interesting !!! the wiring up!!!

The main issueis the new d4d has twice as many sensors and settings which i will try and work around currently doing more homework on the wiring diagram . I have a couple of diagrams but if anyone have the pin outs for either 90 series or 120 series please let me Know I would LLLove a copy if feastiable

Just right click on the picture and select "save target as" and put it somewhere in your own files. It is for a hilux with a 1kz. Page 99 is the pinouts for the engine controller. This file is 15mb so it might take a while if you have dial-up

anyway still looking for the ecu pin outs information which gives me the information required that covers which pin for which sensor !!

well let me say the next exciting news !! I have been working !!! sadly not on the project but if plans go to plans she should be humming on Sunday 17th feb !!! but I can happily say she in and starter motor is turning etc but still got a fair bit on the wiring !!! thats all that needs to be done ! its the wiring that tells the engine to run and stop etc lol
