  • Getting to the GTG from Western Australia

Started this post because those sandgropers don't know how

And to start you off the directions to Bendleby are:
    1. Head east
    2. Turn left at Wyhalla
    3. Your there.
    4. Special notes: pack a water bottle and 2 packs of Winfield blue or red (depending on youir choice), its a 2,750km trip roughly speaking. (That's a two pack trip involving 4 wee stops if you do it straight through. Remember to stop at the border and declare your not a Victorian ). Penalties apply if you are Victorian and are payable as you enter SA and leave SA. This is because they stole the Grand Prix from us.
    5. You can do 110 kph in SA with a trailer, unlike those wussy rules in WA.
    6. Finally, notice the camel road sign in WA and in SA, the SA version actually looks gay!

Yours helpfully and an ex Sandgroper

What the hell man?! Over here we measure trips in cans or stubbies. So averaging about 2 every 50k's you'd wanna pack about four and a half cartons for the trip.

Do you also measure long distance in Bundy bottles? Will I bring the BLACK along for the ride or will we slum it with the standard RED around the camp fire? Looking forward to catching up again - only been a year!

Anyone keen to ride along? Spoke to some soft riders from NSW who did the Anne Beadell east west in 8 days very easily. Worst part was eastern end for corrogations. Otherwise I will do it alone.............

D4D death rattle at 73,000km. Currently stuck in Meeka trying to get a tow out of here. Makes me think twice about going anywhere more than 50km from a repairer.
