  • ARB Air Fittings

Well I have had a man's search and could not find any information so I am now puting the question out there.

Does anyone know the name of the fitting type on the ARB compressor/ hoses/ tyre inflator? The ARB orange hose I have is not long enough to reach the camper trailer so have a short length of hose but need the fitting to suit the ARB hose.

Have visited the local air fitting place and they have seen the ARB fitting but have no idea where to get them from.

All help or suggestions will be appreciated.

      HI VK
Was going down this same track when i first got the compressor.
Industrial fitting stores local to work came up blank.
I was asking a fitter at work that had recently moved from the UK about the fittings and he had some spares, that found there way into his tool box back home. He said they were common over there, like our RYCO here.
He gave me a couple of males and a female. I used these to adapt to ryco that I use for other tools.
Might be able to check out ebay or go the ARB store.
      Cheers

Troy is there a name at all on the fittings?

I thought I had read somewhere that the fittings were common in England and sounds like you just confirmed that.

Not sure what the quick connects are, although I read on a US forum somewhere they are an american standard fitting, similar shape as nitto but apparently not compatible.

I do know that all of the threaded fittings on the compressor and hose are 1/4" NPT (including the threaded end of the quick connect so you may be able to find a 1/4" NPT to nitto and replace the lot), I recently sourced a number of fittings for a remote intake/outlet install and did this but re-used the quick connects to save $ (details here).

ARB do sell an extension hose which is basically the same as the tyre inflation kit without the extra bits for the compressor/inflation and slightly cheaper price. Probably still not worth anything near what they charge but if you need to source compatible fittings from the US it may work out cheaper to just buy their hose extension, at least you know it will fit and work.

Really just trying to not buy another hose as I already have one the right length from my last compressor so only need to change the fittings.

Have priced another ARB hose and it is $30 so if it becomes to much running around it will be just as easy to buy the right thing.

$30 is a pretty fair price considering that it is all put together ready to go. Also the full kit is supposedly $60. So I'd go with another ARB hose.

Neg. on the brand name of said fittings VK. Come to think of it I think the Spear & Jackson fittings did look very similar as AMTS has stated.

Went to Bunnings to investigate the compatibility of ARB air fittings with the Spear and Jackson / Projectair Charge style set.
The fitting looks very close. But the coupler is different. But apparently it should still work according to the Bunnings staff.

So has anyone tried the Bunnings fittings?

I'd like an air blaster fitting to blow dust out of parts...

I haven't tried the Bunnings fittings, but just asked at the local ARB store and get all the parts I needed.

                        Cheers

you will most likely pay $15 per fitting anyway so $30 is a good price

I found a supercheap air hose in the shed the other day - fitting on it are identical to ARB and I think they maybe RYCO series 500, have tried them in the ARB and work fine no leaks or problems.

Yep, thats what I did and it sure was a lot less running around.
