  • 2014 GTG Are you ready yet?

So how are the attendees going with preparing for the Vic High Country? What mods are left on your to do list or wish list and what else do you still need to organise? It's getting close now!

Hmmm, good question GTG, the 150's pretty right to go, but need to sort out some solar and take out unnecessary items out of the Jayco like the microwave. I might even set up a gas bayonet on the drawer bar for the babyQ. Fast running out of time though!

So close I can already taste the cold beers by the campfire

Hopefully my Runva winch will turn up next week and I will be able to get installed in time. Also will install diff breathers at the same time.

Only thing left to get after that is a portable toilet so I can have my own private throne

Really just need to pack the camper and bolt everything into the Prado that does not live in it like the- roof bars, rear rack, awning, shovel holder, read door bag, etc.

Do have to bolt on the new tyres and rims which have been sitting on the garage floor since January. I do have the week off before we leave the state on the Saturady before so have plenty of time I hope.

          "are you ready yet?"

Bwahahahahahahaha.... That's a joke question, right? Surely we have a few months left?

In all seriousness, no I am NOT ready! I just put my new ARB bar on last weekend, and my list still includes 1) install new IPF 900XS spotties; 2) install new Aerial & UHF; 3) Fit new tyres; 4) complete a full fluid & filter service; 5) install snorkel; 6) install diff breathers; 7) reinstall on-board ARB compressor; 8) install new 100a/h battery in camper; 9) get new zipper and new peg/D rings on one of the camper walls...

Actually, now that I am looking at this list, I have a S&*T load to do!
          Diesel Prado with various things...

Got the camper set up in the back, sorting out a few issues from last time.
New tap. Dry seal. New spring mattress being manufactured. Few other improvements.
Vehicle is always ready for action, had to replace the UHF after being abused 2 weeks ago about how (***censored***) it is.
So I bought a new one to keep him happy. Not sure if it was the radio but at least it's eliminated :-)
Had to repair my $12 battery tray, not its a $14 battery tray.
Got a terrible noise it's making a notable knock after starting & on moderate bumps, can't figure it out, giving me the shits.
Might just buy a new 200 series, that will sort it.
Gotta get the rest of the prizes sorted & picked up.
Got to sort out a menu & drink selection......

But, it will all work as it is so ready.

I'm nowhere near ready LOL! I've got the false floor for the fridge started but it still needs a bit of work before the slide can go on. Have picked up my dual batteries from #### and the kit was booked to be installed tomorrow along with a snorkel but had to reschedule, going to hospital for scans on my shoulder instead. Then there's the Traxrax and awning to install and the HID upgrade for my IPFs. And I almost forgot about diff breathers, need to get at least the front and rear diff ones done. Then there's the tent that still needs a trial setup and a hosing to close up the seams plus all the camping stuff to find and test. Better get cracking!

Will be taking the Cub camper on the final Recce this w/e, so I should know what I'm missing, but do to only being able to get the days b4 Easter off work, I'll miss out on the Mansfield meet n greet! I hope to get a dual Battery system installed b4 GTG, or at least a solar panel to keep the fridge going.
                        Otherwise ready to go.

                        Cheers,

Yeah not far off. Lots of late nights have whittled a long list down to cleaning and packing. Even got the drawers done and spoilt the old girl with a few new goodies!
                          I must have forgotten something...
