  • performance chip for petrol engines?

    Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone out there know of a good performance chip for 150 v6? I have looked everywhere on the net and can not find a thing. I would like to know if anyone has had one installed in their 150 v6 and what their experience was. I want more torque and am guessing that finding and installing a high quality performance chip would be the easiest, cheapest and quickest option to gaining more torque?

If anyone knows of any other options regarding torque and performance I would love to hear from you.

    Cheers

After four years of listening to petrol owners bang on about how much better the petrol Prado is we get two owners admitting they are wimpish on the same day!

        Who would have thought.

And after many more years of listening to diesel owners bang on about how much better the diesel is, god knows how many threads are devoted to diesel chips, exhausts, intercoolers, and turbos to get more power !

not to mention D4Detonation threads ...

          each to their own

Until Toyota put a decent diesel in the Prado that doesn't suffer from poor fuel quality issues and has more power and torque, ill keep my V6. I get 15l/100 towing my 1.5t camper to Sydney and back sitting on the speed limit, without the need for upgrading the exhaust and adding a chip. The current D4D is so far behind the opposition, that its not funny.

            cheers

Thanks vic black. Gonna do some research on it now

Yeh I'm with you arien. Not complaining just want a bit more. Before I bought my prado I had a drive of a friends diesel 150 and was not impressed at all, so I went with the v6.

A neighbour just "upgraded" their '07 V6 120 to the new D4D Altitude. She wants her 120 back as she's a bit of a lead foot off at the lights and says she doesn't win anymore haha...

Its because theres not much to say about the Petrols.... No particular need for chips, not particular need for Exhausts or other such things... - They just work and go like buggery when you want them to off the lights :-)

All those diesel posts are because people are adding, chips, and exhausts etc. to compensate for something they just dont got over the petrols :-)

You're right zero, who wants to talk about a boring petrol :P

Someone needs to supercharge it or some other form of awesomeness, now that would be a Prado gift from the gods......

Nothing better than overtaking a diesel Prado towing a van, while I driving my petrol Prado while towing the van !!!
