Some things maybe OK for a look.
But, I don't compromise on recovery gear.

If the canvas seat covers are the same quality as last time, I would give it a miss.

I looked at the equaliser strap it had a rating of 6,000Kgs which seemed good to me.

Got the equailizer strap and Hi lift jack helper for fathers day. Seems to be Ok, I have tested it with my original Hi Lift jack and seems to work Ok.

Used my Aldi tree trunk protector for first time on the weekend with the Prado and a 9x5 trailer load of firewood bogged in some very sticky mud, and the strap held up great!

I was checking out the recovery tracks today.... A third of the price of maxtrax! But would it be worth it I wondered?!

Stick with Maxtrax. The cheapies don't seem well engineered enough to handle the weight or the sun (from what I've seen on the net).

Has anyone got one of the rooftop bags? They fold away really well and I'm thinking about getting one.

                  Will.

We went away earlier this year, one person had Maxtrax and the other had the Aldi special. They both worked but if there was anything solid in the bottom of the rut like a stock or rock it would rack the bottom of the Aldi track.
The Maxtrax had no such issue so I ended up buying a pair.
Either Rays or Anaconda just had a sale on and Maxtrax were down to $200 odd.

Had a quick look at this stuff today in Aldi and I would have to say Seat covers are not worth it. Better off getting some from here https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/adv...vers-pair.html the other gear looked ok but you can find the same gear and better prices elsewhere. Quality wise I wouldn't buy my 4wd stuff from Aldi.

Did any one look at the LED driving lights. $200/pair. Looked good, but not sure of how the mounting would handle rough roads.

Not knocking the lights - they may be great value, but following good reviews from posters on this site I have ordered these

Not exactly the same as the Aldi lights but I doubt that the 4wdsupacentre units have ever been cheaper than today because of the free freight offer.

I bought the roof tray and bag because the are the exact size I need to carry some camp furniture which would otherwise have to be carted in my caravan.

The tray is steel so not light but seems well made. The bag is designed to fit the tray. For the price I think the tray is good value. The bag could be a few bucks cheaper but as Aldi does they will drop the price if they don't sell out.

Have you checked to see how strong the brackets are?
