  • Buying a 2009 ZR with 140,000km, what to look for ?

Hi, hoping for some advise/help/assistance here. I am looking to purchase a 2009 ZR D4D auto with 140,000km on the clock. What should I be looking for or expecting to spend soon ? ie: new injectors or injectors seals ? drive train slippage ? gear box software upgrade ? the vehicle has had all toyota services, so I would expect/hope that any issues have been identified/resolved, but I want to be prepared in any case.

    thanks for the advise/assistance.

    cheers
    Simon

    Hi Simon,
I have that year model with around the same k's. Just depends on how it's treated and whether it's been modified. Your main expense will be the timing belt change at 150,000km. Mine's been reliable and I've done probably 40% offroading (mud, sand, rocks). Had oil seal go at 135,000km but that's been all outside of normal service. Depending on where you live and mods on vehicle average price is between $32,500 - $38,000. Hope this helps. ☺
2009 Prado 150 ZR SWB, Silver Pearl, Snorkel, Tow Bar, 2" lift Tough Dog shocks and springs, BFG LT 265/65/18, ARB bullbar, GME TX3340 radio, ARB awning and mosquito tent. I have one life, why waste it wishing away when I can get out there and have fun!
