Hi krytrox, thanks for doing the write up, we use stainless for the bracket, as our vibration test on the mild steel shown weakness on X-ray,

Hi thanks for the photos. Is the new filter before or after the OEM filter?

This will be before the factory filter

Yes. As above... before factory 30 micron filter. Some suggest 10 or 2 micron pre filter. I think any is better than none. First cleans up the sticks and stones and factory does its job.

I had a long discussion with the Toyota mechanic over whether to put the extra filter before or after the OEM filter. Matt eventually convinced me
to put it AFTER the OEM filter for the following reason.
If a contaminated batch of fuel enters the tanks and water or gunk fouls the OEM filter then the sensors within are designed to alert the driver.
The second filter will then save the pump/lines/rail/injectors from any contamination that has got passed the OEM filter.
I hope he is right, I am new to LC Prado and diesel engines.

The before or after factory filter is a major discussion........ we go before the factory filter as after is deemed to be modification to the engine package, and any warranty could easily be rejected.

The 30 micron fuel manager filter as a better water separation level, than the 5 micron
Putting two 5 micron filters, loads the the first filter and not so much the second
The warning system in the Toyota prado, is activated very early so if actioned early enough no water will get through
