  • Toyota Computer Readout - Buying Car

    Hello All.
    Been on here for a while and planning on going from a 2009 Kakadu (petrol) to a 2012 VX (diesel).
    I may be jumping at shadows but I got the dealer to throw the VX on the Toyota diagnostics machine today and give me a readout. My mechanic is going to look at the car too before I push the button.
    Main thing I was worried about was the injector values. Based on info from PP these look ok? Am I correct?Click image for larger version

    Does any other issues jump out at people?

    The water temp is 82' when the test was done ,ask for it when stone cold .

      You are 100% right I think.
      I have done some more research to understand what all of the items are and the specified ranges. MAF also doesn't look good - and they ran the car for 38 minutes before the test!

        i might be a sceptic here , but it sounds like they know what they are doing and how to mask the injector issue. Put it this way they wont help you once you drive off , its all buyer beware these days.

          A very important reminder.

          I flick through the usual forums & sites once or twice a day when possible, I often see, or am asked about the feedback values , & thank you for asking
          Screen shots can be an indicator of problems, as I have said befor you really need to watch it through the warm up cycle.

          The other very important thing is, it seems jst about every time people are looking at feedback values
          1,2,3,4 right?
          You need to look at those but other very important parameters, a good example one I checked this arvo.

          That is hot, full temp, for this example for you, keeping it simple.

          Feedback values look ok :idea: :?:

          The top one, main injection volume is out. Hot: 5-6 is growse, 7-8 is ok, 9-10 is getting there. 11-12 is book it in, 12+ cancel all bets.
          Now that is only a guide, as combination of specs should be taken into account.
          Also the spec on feedback for idle is 4, so that is also out.
          Near the bottom, 3rd one under val#4 main injection period 827, she's way out, should be under 710.

          So individual feedbacks ok, 3 other parameters on that shot out! :shock:

          Yes same car still idling at full temp (idling like the pig)
          Things have changed

          VERY IMPORTANT:
          This is also why injectors generally should be changed as sets of 4, they are all either worn or contaminated.
          You see now number 4 looks good :idea: no wrong it's stuffed too :!:
