    Hello Pietro,
There has been volumes written about dual battery setups on Pradopoint, including the 2.8 GD model. There are quite a few options and alternatives, and some folk have conflicting views about which way to go. However, no matter what size battery you go for, where you locate it, how you charge it and isolate it, you need to think about or explain a few things. What is the purpose of the second battery, what are you looking at running off it, will you use solar or will it be solely charged from the alternator, and how long do you hope to be stationary or camped for at any time. I have set up or helped set up half a dozen vehicles now, including the same model as yours, and I have a couple of ideas and I have tried a couple of different approaches. I'm really happy with the set up I have now. I have tried charging a second battery directly from the start battery , also via a simple isolator, I've used a voltage boosting diode (in a previous model) and charged a battery via a DC DC charger, and via a DC DC charger with integrated solar, and it really depends on what you want to do with the second battery. There is a lot of opinion and also misinformation out there in my opinion. I also try and set up a dual battery without making too many holes or modifications to the car itself, I keep it relatively simple and easy to fault find, and safe with appropriate fusing etc. Anyway, before I provide my personal opinions, I'm wondering if you might explain the following to help give some opinions on how to approach your proposed set up.:
    1. What appliances/ eg fridge, lights etc will you hope to run off the second battery?
    2. Will you be doing serious off road driving over rough terrain or mainly touring and camping without much rough work etc
    3. Will you be able to use solar when you are camped up or will you be planning on stopping regularly for just an overnite stay and moving on quickly the next morning
    4. Are you wanting a reasonably permanent set up in your car, or a setup where you can remove the battery very easily, for example when you are at a camp site and want the battery and a fridge out of the car and close to the tent/camper
    5. Does you Prado model already have a second start battery under the bonnet (as many european versions have) or do you just have a single start battery (you mention the 65ahr Yuasa, but I'm not sure if you have one or two of them under the bonnet.

Anyway, I don't want to confuse you, but happy to give some personal opinions, but just need a bit more info.
