Just got back from a 200km round trip, pulled up at the lights 1km from home and noticed a bit of smoke - thought it was the car next to me. Get home to discover the serpentine belt I replaced 300km ago has shredded off the inner "rib" and there is oil everywhere - as in major leak. Pulled off the belt and gave the motor a run to see where the oil is coming from. It appears to be dripping from underneath the housing (thermostat??) at the top of the motor between the V. The radiator hose connects into it and it looks as though the oil lines from the filter run underneath it and connect into the motor. Can't see under the blasted thing to see what is going on.
Thought it might have been the timing cover as per previous posts but that looks good as does the front crankshaft seal.
A google search has come up with some sort of problem on Aurions with the oil line rupturing. Anyone come across a similar problem? I'm just letting the engine cool so that I can degrease it and start pulling things apart.
Cheers,
Mark
