  • Injector values

    Hi Guys

    Finally got my Techstream working

So did cold start injector values

    #1= 0.7
    #2= 0.4
    #3= -1.5
    #4= 0.4

by my reckoning this means new injectors , right.

also check for cracked piston in #3 too, eh.

    or a trade in .

Values look good. Anything within -3 and +3 are Ok. Correction will go upto -5 to +5

But as stated a lot on here leaking / bad injector seals are an issue not really too sure if that's reflected in the injector values

Nothing wrong with those values, just check them each time you do an oil change as well as the oil pickup and you will be fine. When they start getting in the 2.5's or over 2's i would look at replacing them some time but only number 3 is higher than the rest and that could simply be valve clearances k's ???. Just check them regularly and i wouldn't worry about it.

Cold injector values are only 1 part of the story around checking injectors...I am no expert, but I know that values at operating temperature and also some other parameters can give a more complete picture...(but I cant recall the other values sorry).

I had my hot and cold values checked a little while ago, but my diesel specialist also reviews several other parameters as well, and perhaps a diesel mechanic can shed more light for you....but as far as I i know, you cant make a definitive decision about the operation of your injectors based just on the values you have quoted....but from the little I know your cold values are still within spec...

Here are my hot and cold values, which I was told was well within spec.
        Cold: -.4/.4/.3/-.8
        Hot:
        -.4/.3/.1/-.4
But its still only part of the story.

I would not be happy with number 3 . I'd be thinking a change is warranted
