  • All new Prado?

Any gossip or knowledge about all new Prado? In Finland we Just got the newest facelift but I wouldnt want to change to it yet because theres got be new one coming next year, 150 starts to be old (8years, 120 where about 7y). I think Australian members would be first to hear if anything theres something to tell.

New Prado has been out here for a few months now. Check out the Toyota AU web site.
2007 GXL V6 - ARB Bullbar with LED lights, snorkel, extractors, 2 1/4" dual exhaust, K&N filter, dimpled/slotted rotors, headrest dvd players, Ebay Satnav/reverse camera, GME 3100TX, Tigerz11 Side awning on custom brackets with Maxtrax mounts, 300W Invertor, ARB Underbody protection, Lightbar and STZ 265/70 tyres.
Wish list in order I'll get them: Sliders, 2" lift, E-locker, Winch bar with winch.

I have spoken with my dealer recently and he seems to think a "180 series" wont be released for a few more years. However my gut feeling is something new is coming sooner than that. Look at the history of the 150 series

      2009 Released
      2014 Facelift 1
      2016 Facelift 2 2.8 1GD-FTX
2017-18 Facelift 3. Collision avoidance standard etc
      2019 ??? 180 series
2018 150 Series Crystal Pearl Prado VX 2.8l. 2 inch King springs and Bilstein shocks, Airtek TJM snorkel.

I'm thinking 2020 at the earliest. That's only two years away. I'm expecting something different like a small petrol turbo and/or potentially a petrol hybrid.

I personally think they should of called the current Prado model the 155 series (like they did with the 100 and 105 series). It's not all new but pretty new and a heap more features like diff locks std from GXL.

The 155 was the SWB 150 Prado.

I think things may change a lot in the next few years, perhaps not here so much but certainly in Europe where Volvo have announced that they will no longer manufacture new petrol or diesel only cars from 2019. It seems hard to imagine for an old codger like me but that is next year.

I have a155 SWB that is now nearly 8 years old.

Any chance they will be bringing the SWB back again?

The model designation is not quite consistent:
                    90-SWB, 95-LWB
                    120-LWB, 125-SWB
                    150-LWB, 155-SWB

                    As for the 100/105:
                    100-IFS, 105-solid axle front

I still think that a diesel electric with an electric motor on each wheel would be an unbeatable package.

Until something goes wrong, there is the story about the Discovery with the flat battery that blew out one of the 7 computers for it.

The only decent thing would be portal hubs.

Emissions and costs of Euro 6 Diesel makes this a very high maintenance package.
