  • Which muffler to replace

Sorry if this has been done to death but my search skills are sub par.

I'm going into the local muffler store to talk about a replacement high flow muffler for my 2010 diesel. I believe there's 2 muffler. A bigger central one and a smaller one near the tailpipe.

Is it the bigger central one that is the better one to be replaced with a high flow one?

I read on here that the smaller rear one is mainly there to cut noise and can be replaced with a straight through pipe. Anyone done this can comment on the noise levels?

    Cheers, Snoo

Change the big muffler to the high flow straight thru and straight pipe the little one if you want

My 120 doesn't have the small one by the tail pipe. I've recently done the big muffler with a hi flow straight thru.

Hardly any noise increase. I have to stick my head out of the window to hear it. Inside the cab with windows closed, you can't tell it's modified
