follow the track that starts at the anchorage caravan park and try to follow the track with river on left hand side until you hit the large flat rock . I have had a lot of success fishing off those rocks and each time not a sole in sight - very peaceful

Hi there, I'm Jim and I'm up for my first Prado and have a budget of $25k to spend on a GXL Turbo Diesel Manual. Could anyone point me towards a resource where I can find out what goodies I get on which models for which year? I drove all the way to Falcon from Perth to see one which had manual windows which, for instance, is a show stopper for me.
I'm currently driving a Hilux btw. Jim

                      Hi everyone.

With our impending sea change from Gladstone to Cairns coming up we thought it was time to upgrade our X-trail. So on Monday we pick up our 2006 4.0L GXL. Was lucky enough to find one that already had most things I wanted to do to it already done, which includes:
                      2” lift
                      Bullbar
                      Snorkel
                      Electric brakes
                      Dual batteries
                      Ipf spotties
The only thing left for me to do for now is install my UHF which will probably go in a roof console (and possibly a Dig-Options TP09X1 gps), although I am sure there will be other things that come to mind.

Will post pics once I have the Prado..

                      Cheers,
                      Rob & Deb

                              Hey There!

I've been trying to join for a while now, not sure why but my other email address wasn't recognised and my account never got enabled. Tried with my new email and same day it worked

                              Anyways we bought this:

brand new a month ago and already put on 4000kms! It's a D4D auto with factory bar and tow bar.

Thanks to this forum, I organised a set up sandgrabba mats and a set of canvas seat covers. Few little mods will follow:

                              - beam underbody rust protection (non sticky spray)
                              - sealing all electrical connection below 0.6m (beam do it and i'm pretty sure they use bees wax or something similar, works great!)
                              - diff + tranny breathers
                              - compressor
                              - arb deluxe alloy roof rack
                              - 2nd spare (btw anyone knows if i can use a steelie on a gxl if 3 others are alloys in an emergency?? I'm thinking different weights, would that cause an issue?)
                              - some better offroad tyres (mind you, this car will be performing 85% soccer mum duties and 15% dad's fun stuff)

                                Welcome along pjorek.

I've got a 17x7.5 steelie as an extra spare for my longer trips.

I don't think weight is an issue ... rather that the that the rolling diameter is the same (or close).

I'm using an old Kelly Safari in a 265/70/17 as aa extra spare to match the 265/70/17 BFGs on the car.

                                Cheers
