My '06 Hilux wiper jets are in. I ordered them this morning when I dropped the rig off for it's service. When I picked it up there was a big smile and, "Since we had the car we fitted them for you - no charge".

They also did the slip joint and checked up that all the recall items had been done. The brake master cyclinder inspection hadn't been done so they did that and replaced the 'O' ring - just in case.

    All ready to go.

$42 for the jets. $13 for a set of 8 clips. Nix for the fitting.

They stuffed 4 of the clips taking them out - so I've still got 4 spares

You can't really see any difference looking at them ...

But you can really tell the difference when you fire them up .. what a brilliant upgrade !
      Thanks Matt.

The pic is not quite as effective at night ops:

Well done Matt, I got a new company hilux the other week and noticed the jets, but it never crossed my mind to try and retro fit them the the prado.
I wonder if work will belive that someone stoll the washer jets aswell as the bonet scope?

Part number for the jets that I got was 85381-0K010

If you are careful, you can get the bonnet clip out without breaking them. You'll notice two tiny dots on the outside of the flat plastic. These just happen to line up with the bits on the shaft that need to be squeezed in before you pull them out. (Not sure about the choice of words with squeezing shafts etc but hey!)

I drive hire cars for work and notice a few of them starting to use these. The Mitsubishi 380 uses them and the Toyota Aurion does too.

                  yeah i'll run with that!

edit: it's probably a bit far to "accidently " end up in a garage 4000k's away... that would be one hell of a bender for that to happen!

edit: that was pretty descriptive wasn't it! but i'm sure those who have made the changes hopefully know what i'm talking about!

McBain, You only need the clips if you break them.
There are 8 of them .
Tried to get the part no for you but the clowns at Toyota said they were not allowed to give out part no.
what a joke, all this secrecy for a $2 clip.

I had mine fitted by Toyota this morning, and they broke one clip, but said they would fix under warranty.
Big deal as I think they are only a couple of bucks each.

Toyota bloke who did the job remarked on how much better they are than the standard, and this is obvious once you use them.

where do the clips fit into the picture?

holding the bonet lining to the hood? or the washer pipes to the hood?

just so i can keep an eye on them when fitting!

The clip that broke on mine was on the bonnet lining.

                            There are 9 of them.

it's a cracker, i would rate it up there one of the best things for this car!

$50, 10 minutes, 1 clip sacrificed and a bit of skin missing. They are installed!!!!

can't freakin beleive how awkward they are to get to though! they obvoiusly never intended on them being changed!

                                edit: my poor spelling!
