Hi All.
PCM_120 is running a thread about front suspension mods. And I touched on this while in his thread.
I want to ask for everybody to measure their front suspension and post it here.
I had my front springs sag on me so I thought it would be good to have a standard and modified measurement guide for people to check.
Obviously it depends on if you have standard suspension or a lift and whether you have a steel bar, ally bar, dual batteries, winch or 13 spotlights etc
My suspension fitter uses a measurement standard of taking dimensions from the centre of the hub to the bottom of the guard in a vertical line with the car on flat level ground.
I think this is for all the car types they do.
From 4X4 to lowered commodores. Some with 4" between the top of the tyre and some with the top of the rim up under the guard.
Some with low profile rubber on 20" rims to massive muddies on 15" rims.
It all should be standard if measured from the centre of the hub, vertically to the bottom of the guard.
So can I ask you to get out the tape measure and post your results?
 Standard, mm
 standard with accessories. and what they are. (e.g bar only) mm
 lift in inches but no accessories. mm
 Lift with accessories and what they are.(e.g bar, dual batteries and winch) mm
For starters mine is as follows. (you can cut and paste this if you want)
2" lift, Lovell's springs, bilstein struts
 When suspension fitted (front) 560mm from hub centre measured vertically to bottom of guard. (from their records)
 Accessories fitted at the time:(steel ARB bar, Dual batteries)
 Suspension front: 1 year later, 505/510mm to bottom of guard.
 Accessories fitted now: (steel ARB bar, 3 spotlights, dual batteries, winch(12000lbs))
If you measure from the top of the rim to the bottom of the rim and half it you will notice that the centre is pretty well right in the middle of the Toyota emblem in the hub. Giving or taking 5mm here or there is fine.
And for all the guys who recently had or are going to get suspension lifts, this is probably a good thing to check and record for your own benefits.
I will keep a tally and edit it in to this first post, see below.
Average front measurements
 standard= 525mmV6.
 standard with alloy bar= 510mm(with bash plate). 520mm (Alloy Bar only).
 standard ,alloy bar with the works=490-500 to 550mm
 standard ,steel bar with the works= 474mm to 480mm.

 2" alloy bar with the works= 565mm(OME)
 2" steel bar with the works=560mm (lovells), 564mm (OME), 570mm (TJM)
I can add more here as the need arises
Average rear measurements
 standard= 525-535mm.530mm near full tanks. 550mm to 560 empty.545mm (1/2 tanks)
 standard with load 520mm.

 2" with load= 600mm. (Lovells) 614mm (OME with 25mm spacer). 565mm. OME(full fuel)
 2" airbag man airbags= 600-650mm with long travel shocks.
 3" unladen
 3" with load
 lifted with airbag= 615mm, 17PSI,80L fuel. (ATS Ridepro).
 Keep in mind people, this is just suspension component measurements. To gain more clearance larger tyres from standard is the go.
