So many choices, one drawer or two.
Both ideas are fantastic but sorry Byrnsie I think that Mitch has got you on the instruction thingy, but only just.
Top effort to both of you

Top job Byrnsie. This is brilliant work. SWMBO is a little vertically challenged and so the fridge slide for me had to be floor mounted & the the box on the other side. The only change I want to make is to secure it using the mounting brackets for the 3rd row seats so I don't have to bolt it in & out (seats are used when not camping). Excellent work.

        Dead right Plucker.

Sorry Mitch, I was away when you posted all your stuff - top job - especially the instructions (particularly good for those of us with 9 left thumbs).

To Mitch (MUMSRIG) - another deserving WINNER !

Congrats on an awesome job, and thanks for the pics.

        Cheers

          HA ^^^^^^^^^^ Thats funny!!!

I like the full length side pod idea of Byrnsie's. Thats a brillint touch there!

My fridge isn't quite as big as Byrnsie's so I'll be mounting it on top of the right hand side on a slide very similiar, utilising the same sort of slides...

How do those handles go Byrnsie? Do they rattle? I checked them out but wanted something that locked in if they are the ones I'm thinking of.

How does your draw lock into place?

          Top effort, I must say!!!

          Mitch

            Credit where credit's due Mitch.

I love the idea of a set of drawers in the back - but I've got to get rid of a kid first. He's adopted the third row of seats (one of them at least - I stole the other one so I could fit the fridge in) and his brothers are just as determined that he stays there.

So until I find a buyer for one slightly second hand 10 year old I just get to drool over well designed and well made sets of drawers.

            Cheers

                  Top effort Byrnsie,
I am in the middle of creating a very similar set up to you with a fridge in place instead of a second drawer. I have basically finished the fit up just need to get to work on the carpet and i am still sourcing the perfect handle. Have one like yours but i am wanting to lock it in so still looking around. Does your lock in place?
One other question, where did you get your runners from. At this stage i have mine fitted up with ones like Mitch from bunnings but am uphappy with how far the draw opens.

Shoudl hopefully get it finished this weekend, will post photos when done.
You boys are all very inspiring.
Well done Mitch on inspiring so many of us to get of our behinds and put in drawers.

I'm also building a set of draws (slowly).
I got some awesome heavy duty draw slides from Galvin hardware
                      http://www.galvins.com.au
They are all steel with steel rollers and I reckon I should be able to stand in and extended draw no problem - NOT cheap.

Timmay, my drawer is held shut by cabin hook. If this does not stand the test of time I will install a lock. I didn't really want to have to use a key to open the drawer.

Runners were purchased from Ebay and come in various lengths. I bought the 800mm ones as my unit is 900mm deep. I didn't want to risk the 900mm runners being slightly too large. In hindsight they may have been better.

When I normally start a project I have great visions of how it will turn out. Photos of Byrnsie and Mitch's drawers are a good example of how the planning up top starts off.
My finished product is usually totally different to the plans.
I could create a Picasso out of a landscape if you know what I mean.
Fortunately for me I dont have the need for the drawers yet.
Top effort fellas, keep up the good work and keep on postin your great ideas.

Threads like these really need to stay sticky mods. So they dont get lost in the sea of threads as this site grows.

                                Nice and simple.....

With the latches I used, I don't have to lock them with the key if I don't wish too. They certainly do hold the draws closed well though.
