That is what the sales rep told me.... I might contact Yoko for confirmation.
I would love to hope he is right, if so, i am buying some next time, but most LT tyres only have 3 ply side walls if that.

Hey Golly, is the sizing you quoted before correct "265/70/R17" as there sizing chart online doesn’t have detailed info after that size so assume they don’t make it??? :? Hence the 275/65 thread:shock:
Also Yokohama also have a life time warranty for road hazards depending on the amount of wear on the tyre.
Must be only on their 4wd tyres. I had the misfortune to destroy a 1 week old Yoko Advan V103 performance tyre on a road hazard (pothole ripped a sidewall). Nothing from the dealer or yoko. $400 of ouches and cusses.

I rang Yokohama in Perth the other day, there emails do not work for some lazy reason. They are two ply, and definately 265/70 R17's lads. I paid $340 fitted and balanced and I will measure the tread when I get home to perth for you all. Great on road with standard suspension. The one trip off road I have done up the powerlines with onroad pressures they went really well, gave the walls a caning and they seamed alright haha.. Havent let them down at all with the Stauns yet, apparently from a mate at work with a set on his Paj they balloon out nicely on the beach for anyone wanting a set for this type of terrain. Sand and Snow is where they perform apparently. Waiting to get some rain to go play with them in the mud haha..
I have just gone down the Yoko path. So far only driven on black top and smooth gravel, but they seem quite solid. One question, what are people running them at? Mine were at 45-48PSI from the fitters, which I found way too harsh, so have reduced them to 42 all round which seems a lot softer on the road. I think that this would still be too high for anything other than a smooth gravel road, and I certainly wouldn't like to do the powerlines track at that pressure. Just too harsh for me. I should get them out a bit more and do some testing

Cheers,
Ray.
I run my bridgies at 36psi and if i get yokies next will be the same, it allows a nice ride and so far good mileage, i have 45k currently maybe a bit over half worn. Mate has 55k on his still plenty left in his.

I run them at 40psi, and did the powerlines on that oops! did I say that..... but they were fine might try the 36psi thing when I get back to perth and see how they run
I fitted a set of Yoko GO12 AT-S 275/65/R17 about 6000kms ago. First trip was Brisbane to Tassie and back towing 2000kg + rowing scull trailer (18metres overall length!). Very happy with the tires. Still very quiet, with excellent grip on seal - wet and dry. Perhaps some slight delay on turn-in but nothing that causes any issue. Probably due to the tread depth and a little bit of tread block movement. Have done a small amount of work on very wet, soft grass towing the above trailer. Grip was VERY impressive. I wasn't prepared to go to 70 section as my insurer made it very clear that if the tires where oversize (>+15mm) in QLD, they would not cover the vehicle. However if the incident occurred somewhere (such as NSW) where this increase in size is acceptable - no problem! Not worth the risk. I selected the 275 because of the extra height and width (legal) and the excellent look! They have very pronounced "sidewall grippers" that look very cool! I can recommend these tires - they're great. I'm a bit annoyed about some of the Brisbane prices I've seen to this thread - I paid $325 at Tyres and More. Clearly I could have done better. The lifetime warranty is a bonus and adds value to the deal.
well, the old coopers got 89000k's clocked up before i put a hole in one of them while out with some of the guys from lcool on the weekend. tread was too low to repair them so i did some ringing around on monday to try find a set of these in 275/65/R17 flavour. got quoted $350 by three different dealers, then rang BJ's at Coorparoo and got a quote for $317 each.
SOLD!
they went on yesterday afternoon and so far i'm pretty impressed after the 300k's i've done on them. Tread looks pretty mean, i swear the car feels substantially higher but that could be caused by having driven a hire car the day before, the grip around corners is streets ahead of what i had (they were almost slicks though). and the spare sits nicely without needing spacers. though i'll probably put something on there the gap looks like it's less than a mm so bumpy roads could cause some rubbing..
