Re: THIS IS IT..
Looks fine to me
Now ..... having just arrived back from the 2009 GTG, cleaned everything up and packed it away, I want to hook the camper back up and head off to the 2010 GTG
Here's a few random thoughts to get the ball rolling ............ (They're just random thoughts - feel free to pick them apart)
 The Cape would be an awesome trip but would probably eliminate a lot of participants due to distance and difficulty.
 Fraser Island is fun .... but families etc may run out of things to occupy them.
 Darwin would make a great winter destination ..... with some awesome destinations
 ...... as would the Kimberley or Pilbarra ..... but hey ... I'm probably a tiny bit partial here.
 Western Vic or NSW would also remain relatively central and have a better chance of maximising participation.
 Group travel made the whole experience even better ..... when you consider that 3 WA PPers went via Ceduna and 7 others went via the GCR ... and all 10 cars arrived in Alice within 20 minutes of each other and rolled into Ross River together.
 If 28 cars made the '09 GTG its probably fair to expect 50 in '10. This will impact on accomodation and may mean booking a showground rather than trying to fit into a caravan park.
 Insurance. Mav's groundwork was awesome and we got lucky this time ...... but most parks in Oz are going to demand insurance cover for a group - to protect Pradopoint.
Fire away
Cheers
Chippy

Re: THIS IS IT..
Well thanks to Matt I can now see and access the mod forums so I can contribute to this now.
Firstly let me just say that we had an awesome bunch of people who attended the 2009 GTG, they were great ambassadors for the forum. We had Wil who rendered first aide to an old lady who had collapsed at the top of Kings Canyon, we amongst others PPers assisted an older couple who's Patol had lost a rear wheel, and several other acts that promoted PP as a great bunch to have around.
Now for the 2010 GTG I am going to propose that the destination be the Vic High Country. This destination was a clear winner with the 2009 GTG attendees as the next location. What I would propose though is that we use a base camp for the entire GTG and run day trips out of that location. I would also like to investigate a group booking for a two day horse trail ride with an overnight camp. This would appeal to kids as well as parents. I have been checking out locations already and have a contact in the Latrobe Valley 4wd Club who look after the locked tracks in the Vic High Country. There is a possibility of having someone from the the Latrobe Valley club giving us a guided tour or two of the locked up areas as they have the keys to the gates.
I am off to Adelaide today but will be back on Tuesday, let me know what you all think of this as a destination. If it is given the go ahead then I reckon the April school holiday timeframe would be the go.
Cheers
