    To everyone who may like me to make some dump pipes, I am about to get quotes for laser cut flanges or alternatively PM me for the .dwg files (also have them pdf'd) I have here and with two 3" bends make your own
    It may take me a while to make up a few as they will be a spare time project.

          To all those interested in one of these, I'm making some flanges this week - time permitting.
          I had one issue I realised when I made mine - the difference in size between the 3" pipe and original exhaust leaves a lip which will severely restrict the gas flow (causes vortices in the gas). I filled the dump pipe with weld on the approach to the outlet flange and shaped it smooth. If you guys want I can do that again or reduce the size of the dump pipe closer to the original exhaust pipe size (2.5" approx) which is a neater job. Going from 2.5" up to 3" probably won't have any significant benefit anyway as the rest of the pipe is 2.5". The original cast dump pipe ID is 1.75". Thoughts anyone?

            I think I can picture the issue you raise.
            If you were to go 2.5, and not fill with weld, would it also be less prone to any cracking in the future??

            The heat from welding up a leading edge possible to cause cracks if any stresses introduced by the welding, and no real opportunity to stress relieve it either? Then it will be subject to heating and cooling each time engine starts, stops.

            So I suppose 2.5 makes sense to me.

            My 2C worth. Anyone else any ideas, suggestions for Adrian?

              Does anyone know if adrian5800 is still around and doing anything with his dump pipes as per this thread? I PM'd him the other day and haven't heard anything. If not, is anyone else doing anything along these lines?

                I realise this is an old thread, but I think Im still on topic with this post.

                Im looking at eliminating the restrictive dump pipe. Not necessarily upgrading the complete exhaust, but just the dump pipe at this stage. A replacement similar to the one shown in this thread would suit me for now.

                Has anyone looked at whether the ID of the original dump pipe can be ported out larger, by using a Dremel or similar grinder? I havent had a chance to get under my car and measure outside diameter yet, as I dont get to see my Prado in daylight hours much. lately.

                Any info, comments appreciated.

                Or does anyone know of replacement custom dump pipes like the one made above a few years back?

                  I know you can buy the exhaust components as individual items from Manta, ie just buy the dump pipe to cat converter section.

                    just food for thought i would think twice about changing the std dump pipe, it does flow pretty well, i changed the dump pipe to a advanced headers dump pipe and changed the main muffler to a freeflowing sports 3inch, while it made good gains in power and got rid of the hole in the wall at 2800 rpm it cracked 4 times at the turbo flange, i had a flex pipe put in from the word go but it didnt matter because the dump pipe was made of just a thin walled pipe, and no matter how many times it got re welded it just cracked again, so if the dump pipe you are looking at has a thick walled pipe, at least 3mm or more that will help stiffen it up, good luck finding one at a decent price, i put the std dump pipe back on after all these dramas and there was bugger all difference i noticed go back to it, i would try changing the muffler and pipes 1st before you go down the dump pipe road. cheers samo

                      Resurrecting a really old thread here in the hopes that someone can help me.

                      I've got a 1994 KZJ78 (1KZ-TE) and I'm looking to get an exhaust fabricated. Does anyone know of this flange will fit my rig?

                      If so, could some one pm or email me the dxf file?

                      There are only a handful of these rigs in Canada so the help and direction is much appreciated. Also unfortunate that there isn't a Prado 78 group here but there are likely only a few of these in New Zealand as well ... or they are going extinct. Offroad express has a good community of folks as well but their site isn't taking registrations right now.
