    Hi Guys

The universal trays are fine but do need replacing quite often as they are quite thin, they flex and the coating peels off.

We have spent $4800 in tooling costs to produce this tray and it is made from heavy plate and then coated to prevent corrosion. We hold stock of 500 trays and clamps in a fairly expensive warehouse.

Although our tray is $145.00 it comes with full instructions and the battery hold down clamp.

Note: Pradopoint members can ask for discounted prices and the tray is not expensive in my opinion.

    Regards

    Derek

                Nice work !

I did mine with the same tray a few weeks ago. When you look at the Toyota supplied tray for your main battery.... why spend $150+ on a purpose made one for the aux. There is already a platform provided with nut-serts and holes to clamp the battery with. With the packet saved on getting the supercheap tray i fitted a 75ah AGM battery straight off.

QUOTE=alternative;286386]The main battery tray in the 150 is a 3mm thick plastic sheet with a tiny lip on it. The vehicle has a flat battery platform with nutserts on both sides as standard and holes to clamp the battery to the car body, so really all thats needed is another flat plastic tray. Fitting a $15 supercheap tray seems like an overkill compared to the main battery tray. Heres a few pics, it took me 2 days to wire the dual battery (50mm/0 gauge), dedicated fridge socket and P3 brake controller.

                Hi Alternative,
Did you use the Suppercheap of the Toyota tray?
And if you used the Toyota tray what did you do with the AC pipe?
                Regards Cyclone.

I only just found this thread when checking to see what bolt size to use. I have just installed the 'large' supercheap tray cut down to fit a 12" battery and re-locate the aicon pipes. I actually thought the tray I got was quite heavy sheet steel with a good thick coating on it? I will post some pics once I have it all bolted down properly on my rig build-up.

Cut down one side, folded open and drilled a hole to relocate the rubber AC pipe mount.

Nice looking job. How did you get nuts on those bolts to hold the battery tray down? Im looking at doing this tray on my new 2.8.
                    Thanks

                      Hi Darren253,

That looks like a good idea you've done there. Just checking whether you just unbolted it from the original mount (the AC pipe mount) and then bolted it straight onto the new tray or did you have to raise it? It just looks to be an inch or so higher then level with the tray on my car. Thanks, first time poster so sorry if I've done it wrong

Hey Darren great photos and good idea, just wondering how you managed to relocate the piping as mine appears to be quite rigid.

                        thanks, Preston
