    Silly question time!

Did you do this because the stock resonator wouldn't fit with the supercharger? I assume it made the engine seem a fair bit louder inside the car? Is there any downside to doing this with a NA 5VZ-FE?

Nothing silly about the questions mate!

The stock resonator does fit with the charger, no problem at all. I only removed it because it was booked in for a dyno and thought I may as well do all easy performance tweaks before the tune (also had full exhaust replaced beforehand). I didn't notice more noise from the missing resonator but keep in mind I already had a couple new sounds to get used to (the whine and the exhaust).

One downside is that removal of it does expose the 3x ignition coils to more mud/dirt/water compared to stock.

      • Hi Glen,

Nice rig!! I know it has been a bit since your last post but I wanted to ask you about your rocker switches....... what switches did you get and did they require any modifications to fit in the blank spaces to the lower right of the steering wheel where you have them mounted? I was looking at Carling style rocker switches but they do not seem to be the right size. Any thoughts on this would be most appreciated. It says the switch cutout is 36mm x 22mm and the switch itself is 50mm x 25mm.

On my right side I have the supplied ARB locker switches which are approximately 21mm x 35mm (rear section).

On the left I have 2 "Narva" rocker switches from a local car parts store, used for ECU mapping & Auto lock up, they're about 19mm x 35mm (rear section).

For both I'm pretty sure I had to trim the hole a little, but the fit is not perfect, so it's easy to pull them out (but they won't fall out).

                        • Great build up! Inspiring. I couldn't find where you got your bash plate from though? Is it custom?

I believe it was an old Brown Davis plate before I modified it for the diff drop.
