I see we already have a thread running on the potential location 2011 GTG.

Without stepping on any toes;

I'd be happy to be involved in running one in SA (Flinders Ranges) if that's chosen to be a suitable location.

I guess a fair way is to run a POLL.

Could go state by state over the years, or maybe pick some interesting areas, Birdsville, Innamincka, Broken Hill, High Country etc.

Just keeping the mods in the loop regarding the 2011GTG.

SEQld now has a committee that consists of at least 6 people but we are looking at 7 people in total to avoid confrontation when voting on particular activities for the GTG. We are working out the rules for the committee and how the committee will run firstly. Once an idea is proposed it will be voted on and then the decision will be enacted into the 2011GTG planning.

SEQld is serious about running the 2011GTG. So if anyone has any objections, I would like to propose exactly that.....GTG2011 in SEQld. I realise a poll has been suggested, but my thoughts are that the possibilities of other locations are not as organised (yet) compared to SEQld committee and time is running short.

So if anyone has any objections, please let me know but I would like the approval from moderators firstly to avoid upsetting other locations who may have already suggested that they are ready to run the GTG for 2011.

Fly N Drive has plenty of sponsor contacts and offered his assistance. I think we should utilise his contacts for the benefit of the annual GTG.

Mav. As you organised the previous GTGs, we will need your input in areas such as sponsor requests, insurance etc. Can you please PM me your contact details and I will give you a call about the organisation criteria.
I would like the committee to keep Mav in the loop with what has been decided by the committee. That way Mav has the details and can reject or request clarification before we post to the forum.

Okay, I guess at this point in time I am more than happy to let the Qld members organise and run the 2011 GTG. I have been out of the loop for a while but I do have an offer from a potential sponsor that I will work on to see where it leads.

I would like to be kept in the loop as to the decisions the committee makes but I am not going to veto anything that is decided. I will offer advice if I think it is needed but I think you are all capable of organising and running the GTG in the way PradoPoint has become acustomed to it being managed.

The main thing to remember and one that I must stress is that the GTG is a family oriented event, it must be able to be attended by members with stock standard Prado's so any day trips have to be able to be handled by people who may not have much 4X4 experience and may not have lifted or modified cars.

The main guidelines are that there should be a meet & greet dinner/BBQ and an end of GTG dinner/BBQ. This fosters the whole family feeling plus it enables members ot recognise a formal start and end date and time for the GTG.

So hop to it Queenslanders, lets make the 2011 GTG the best one yet.

Mav, check your email, re a new post heading "2011 PRADOPOINT GTG" POST with SEQld running it. Is it possible that you can lock the thread for everyone but admin/mods and myself for the time being. That way we can have the committee meeting and put relevant posts up for all to read, then when the basics are organised and posted, we can unlock the thread for all to post.
