  • I can vouch also for saying if you haven't done it then get it done and do it more regularly. I dropped the pan and did the filter also and there was a film of crap to be cleaned out of that pan. The colour of the oil was scary enough but after 2 flushes it is looking a bit nicer. Photo shows what came out.

    • After 30 years of driving manuals, I bought an auto. So this is new to me.

      When doing a flush and filter, do you do the flush method first, then drop the pan and do filter? I presume so, or you risk contaminating the new filter?

      How is much fluid do you lose roughly when you drop the pan? About 3L if in reading correctly?

      • Well, I've just had mine done - $330 on top of the $1000 for its 200k service. When I looked at the printout, they only replaced 3 litres of fluid, despite me asking them to do the flush. The filter wasn't replaced after they quoted me $600 for one!! I'm currently looking for a good independent in my area!!
