    That list is getting bigger....
What gauges are people gonna use?
I'm thinking air pressure for my tank, Boost, and dual battery voltage

        Installed! - pics shortly

OK - so I installed the pod today - hoping to load some pics tomorrow (Ive never loaded pics on here before). I didnt have too many issues with the pod, but is definitely a job where you want a good day so you dont have to rush anything as there is a lot of 'small hands' type work! I did have to sand the holes a bit bigger and had to 'bend' the gauge terminals to create some space but this was easy enough. There is not much room behind the pod but I managed to get everything in nice and tight.

I just had an email from the guy and he said that the pod could replace the trim - I put it over the top as I think its more rigid that way but would be interested to see what everyone else does.

        Pros
        Looks very cool!
        Great use of space
        Suits the modern interior

        Cons
The pod is made of thin plastic so you do need to be careful
Most gauges will probably have to be altered (Just the length of the bolts)
The texture of the pod is different from the original trim (You dont notice once its in)

As I mentioned earlier I went with Boost and Volts for aux battery (Autometer cobalt) - I installed a UHF speaker in the third hole (Not convinced whether this was a good idea - I reckon two switches would have looked better! too late! Only problem today was that I broke the T piece for the boost gauge - I had searched around for a brass one too! lucky I had a spare.

Contact details for the pod is Adrian - trading as 4x4 Concepts email: [email protected] - just mention pradopoint and I think the price is 149 + postage painted. He is very good to deal with and can make triple, double and is working on one with a dual arb switch panel in the third section.

I hope they are popular (Otherwise I wont look good!!) - Feel free to ask any questions...........

        Cheers!

Looking forward to seeing those pics HAMA.

Has anyone found any after market guages that look as close as possible to OEM?

Matt, I've see the A pillar pods sold somewhere and they are a generic base colour and you spry them with a few coats of a plastic adhesive paint to match the interior. I think I also recall seeing this in a 4WD action magazine with the fella, Scott I think, putting in a pod on his white 100 series and he did the same there. So basically any colour can be achived.

I have been in the process of manufacturing a set of pillar pods (triple) from fibreglass, although the project is on hold. It would be a full replacement piece for the original pillar trim... So i really want to see how this looks, might not be worth continuing if it blends nicely...

Although i do like the challenge of making my own pieces...

I know this isnt strictly on topic...... but I Just went for a drive - Boost maxxed at 15/16 psi - should I be worried?!!

I thought it would be lower than this? What boost pressures do others get with the D4D?

They dont exsist yet but when i do make one it will be in the middle, i will actually relocate so it sits central, ive not even released the triple yet but if you are keen email me [email protected] the more interest the cheaper i will do.
Lets arrange a bulk buy price pending numbers title Prado point screws 4x4 Concepts for a bulk buy, lol
expect to pay $189 posted painted when i put them on fleabay.
                                Cheers
