            Sorry to bring up an old thread but does anyone know the part number for the TRD supercharger and fit kit? Does the one for the 2007 FJ Cruiser 4.0 single VVTI suit a 2005 Prado 1GR-FE single VVTi? What needs to be modified if it doesn't fit?

            Part numbers I guess are;
            TRD SUPERCHARGER - TOYOTA (PTR29-35090)
            TRD SUPERCHARGER FIT KIT - TOYOTA (PTR29-35093)

            Can anyone confirm these are the numbers to order?

            Also, do the Prado and FJ share the exact same front brakes? If so will the TRD front brakes fit?

            TRD, HIGH PERFORMANCE BRAKE KIT, FRONT
            Part Number: PTR09-35100

            I can get these and fit them for a few grand cheaper then Bullet sell them for and the fit kit includes the 6 high flow fuel injectors while Bullet use a dodgy extra injector with a piggy back computer. I really need the extra towing power and is a great fun factor while keeping it factory looking.

            Cheers

              Can't help with your specific questions but on a related note, I wouldn't call the 7th injector dodgy - it reduces intake temps which improves SC efficiency and reduces ping. Apparently it's also easier to install and tune. Of course, with the amount of money involved in such a project, certainly go with the method you prefer.

                you will most likely have trouble finding a fit kit as they were discontinued last year. I have a trd supercharger sitting in the shed that I ws never able to fit as couldn't find the fit kit. I sold my prado, so if you want a bargain on a charger, let me know

                          Hi all, I'm really keen to speak to someone who has successfully supercharged a 3.4L V6 petrol Prado, the 5vz-FE motor. I have a 2002 Prado handed down from my father which I am using to tow a reasonably heavy off road camper, you all know the rest of the story, way under powered blah blah blah. I am seriously considering a blower as a reasonably cheap solution to my problem. Magnussen Superchargers kits seem to be readily available from the states for about $3000 USD, but I suspect there is more to it that simply bolting one of these beasts to the top of my engine. If anyone has actually done this successfully in Australia and I'd really like to know;
                          Was there any other parts required other than the kit?
                          Did you have to have the ECU modified or replaced?
                          Did you have problems with pinging and what was the best fix?
                          Was it worth the effort?

                          ANY information would be gratefully received

                          Scott

                            Scott,
                            Have a read of my build up if you haven't already. http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...213#post445213

                            Short of it is:
                            - It can be run alone but with risk of ping.
                            - To reduce chance of ping, I have an XEDE piggy back ECU to manage timing and fuel, plus additional 7th injector to prevent lean out at high RPM, a lower temp thermostat and lower temp spark plugs.. all dyno tuned.
                            - I run 98 all the time. I have a switch to change ECU map for lower octane fuel, but I've found that (low octane option) to only be good around town. On highway loaded up with all the gear, (with low octane fuel) there's risk of pinging.
                            - I've only noticed ping once. On highway, loaded up, running 91.
                            - I can and have traveled outback with limited fuel options. Can bring octane boost or switch to low octane map and drive easy. I drove it very hard through sand and the Simpson but wouldn't expect that to be safe without ECU and tune.
