      Hi

They don't sell direct, I got mine from ARB Coopers Plains, I'm sure your local 4WD outlet can get them in for you.

I can happily say I installed mine without removing the bar, took me about an hour on a hoist, and that was with a lot of dicking around. Could be done a lot quicker next time. Provided you dont undo both sides of the car at the same time, and leave the top bolt in when removing the other two bolts, the bar wont go anywhere. I also only removed one bolt at a time so there was even less chance of the bar moving.

The brand is actually Outback Ideas. As already stated, most major 4wd suppliers will be able to provide you with these or something similar. You can buy direct from him but you have to be able to track him down. I did have a contact email for him at one stage but don't know where that is. EDIT: Just found it again:

http://www.exploroz.com/Forum/Topic/...ce_towbar.aspx posted by Stan (I assume that is LC120man on this forum). I've also found it else where.:

The problem lies with nut plate extension that is fitted through the front of the chassis rail as there is no captive nut welded to the inside of the rail where the Recovery Point/Bull Bar mount to.

You can be lucky (Ryzz) but the most likely scenario is that the nut plate extension will drop and not enable you to put the bolt back in once you remove it,there for requiring you to remove the bullbar to gain access to the nut plate extension.

The issue is not the bar moving more so losing the extension and not being able to put the bolt back in. For us, we can't tell people we can do it with the bar on mainly because we can't guarantee it 100% of the time.

                  As per pic.

Note the extension out of the rail.

Fair call Giles, appreciate the feedback, be thankful you didnt see the horribly cross threaded bolts that were put on by the original installer, I was appalled that someone could butcher anything that badly!

It's always a pity when these things are found, Pretty sure i remember you telling me where you got the Bar put on. Did you fix it up?

Yep new bolts replaced all the bad bolts. Even the old rollers for the steel winch were bent at nearly 45 Deg, shocking.

At the time the ebay link was showing the incorrect picture, coupled with the fact that i was not aware they stocked the Outback Ideas product this is what led me to believe this was another one of those false listings. John and I have had several discussions about rouge points in the past and this is why i thought they were not genuine...

                            But they are genuine.

                            Giles

P.s i also stated the 120 points fit with the ARB..this was incorrect and i apologise for that, i was of the understanding that they did and i even had it written in my book.

i have tried to buy the "captive nut plate" to fit my new later model chassis brackets with the loops only to be told they will take 2 to 3 weeks to get here. i presume they are getting made in china and waiting for transport....

nice to finally get agreement from giles the the ARB bar WILL NOT fit with the outback ideas (etc) recovery points.

Just wish someone at ARB or elsewhere would take notice of us 120 owners and design a set of recovery points that will suit and fit
