There is only 1 post in regard to heater core and its for a 120 and there isn't anything helpful other than your really unlucky.
Firstly yesterday i noticed a smell of coolant inside the car, got home and checked water level and water pump. Water pump was clean but the coolant reservoir had to emptied.
So i filled it up and started nail biting in case it was the head.
Then this morning there was a cool steam coming through the vents with the rich coolant smell. Kept an eye on the temp gauge and got to work, checked the reservoir and it had emptied.
Just goggled the symptoms and it came back a positive match.
So i did what it suggested and checked to see if it was damp in the passenger foot well and it was.
i read that you can by-pass it with a new hose but you remove the ability to heat the car. as a short term fix this is ok but no point in living with it.
Has anyone done this?
So how do you replace the heater core?
And is it better to leave it to a professional?
