  • Recommendations for dual battery install for Prado 150 GXL

Hi guys. First time poster so go easy. Have had the prado for just over a year, with only one 4WD trip. Anyway want to do more, and the wife wants a fridge. Hence the need for a dual battery system.

Interested your thoughts and recommendations as to what version or system to get installed, and who are good people to use to get it done. I am in Adelaide.

ARB have 3 systems starting at around $830 installed. I guess they would be a safe bet, but apart from paying top dollar I still can't be sure it would be the ideal system to get.

Any suggestions and what to look out for, would be appreciated.

I would recommend that you use the search function
then read all the existing threads on dual batteries.

Then if you have any questions I would recommend you ask your question in an existing thread if appropriate.

Here are a few to get you started.

    http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-Battery-Guide

    http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-battery-setup

    http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-Are-You-Using

These are all from the 150 section, reading the threads in the 120 and even 90 sections on dual batteries will possibly reveal more useful information.

    Cheers Andrew

        flexione,

        http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...ery-TD-150-GXL

This is my thread outlined in AJ120's post, feel free to ask any questions or request more photos if you need. I used an ARB tray, Redarc Isolater, Allrounder 80A/H Battery. My system cost about $500 and has been going great. We use it pretty much for the fridge in the car but also have a run to the rear to charge the batteries in the camper. I will also be running a circuit in the vehicle to run the UHF and some powered 12V sockets for charging ipad's, ipod's etc.

Thanks guys. You have given me some good pointers. Sorry, I had done some searches prior, but didn't get these coming up.. Obviously had done something wrong. Really do appreciate your input. Will look over these threads.

          again thanks..
