I have bought mine in the process of installation, just talking with the other guys who have installed theirs already. I spoke to Asad when I got mine and he is keen to offer discount to Pradopoint members. He also has units for lots of different vehicles.
I will be posting lots of pictures from my install covering a few different aspects like the 6v camera and reverse faceplate.

Looks forward to the pics Brains... I will do a wiring diagram of the rear camera wiring and post it up, so if you can let me know how you go that would be great. Asad was saying that we will need to use a 5v regulator for the rear camera and this is an easy mod but I am sure it can catch people out so I will chuck some photos up when I do mine as well (if the car ever arrives).

I will be ordering my unit this week, so please send me a PM if you want to order a unit.

I'm interested in whether the reverse face plate can be swapped with the existing one, or is it glued/molded?

The contours are different in the inner part of the mold so it will not fit without a lot of cutting and glueing. I was lucky enough to have a very kind fellow member of the forum who bought a unit at the same time as me order 2 LH drive hazard light switches. Fitted great and looks like factory now. It came from Toyota Taiwan and I will try and find the part number from the packet and post it up.

I would recommend that you save your dollars and dump the tv tuner, waste of time in my opinion, use that input for a front mounted terrain camera. I will give Asad a call tomorrow and see if he will offer the discount that the gave myself and a few others off of PP for single buys. Worked out to around 10% off.

He is a damn good guy and gives great backup, never met him or have any affiliation with him but believe in credit were credit due. Great guy / company to deal with.

            Daniel,

He has given me a price I was just going to get confirmation on what it all included and postage costs. I was going to post a heap of photos of the install and any work arounds with the camera. I have taken the photos of the dash strip and showing all the wiring. I'll give you a call during the week, probably Tuesday to chat to you about the install.

I wonder how much it would be if we done a bulk buy direct from the chinese manufacturer on their web site says between $200-$500.

I looked at going direct and was glad I did not, yes it cost an extra $200 but the one I bought and also another PP member bought was faulty and required a replacement. Asad was great with this, he let both of us keep the old unit whilst we waited for the new one to arrive and he also kept in constant contact. In my opinion $200 is worth a good Australian warranty and support.

I am with you 100% Noahboy. Would be good to know if anyone in Perth has installed one of these units so we can share some beers and maybe install these units together.

Can anyone tell me what happens with the reversing sensor section? it seems to be missing from the fascia in the pic posted by sie and rae.

That's only on a VX as it is built into the upgraded optitron display in the VX and Kakadu, on the GXL it remains the same.

I have finally installed my GXL unit from Asad at Extreme Elextronix who has supplied Rogerthatv2 and Starbuck76 their unit for their VX's. With the GXL install I was able to run the Camera from 12V from the Reverse Positive (red wire) as shown in the second photo.
                              http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post237977
I'm not sure if this is the difference between the GXL and VX setups from Toyota. Maybe they supplied the GXL with a 12V camera and the VX got a 5/6V camera. If anyone else out there who has installed one of these units into a GXL perhaps they can shed some further information on whether they hooked the camera up via 12V or 6V. My vehicle is a 2009 GXL 150 D4D just in case there is a difference between the 2009 and 2010/2011 built GXL's.

I connected the reverse trigger wire from the unit and the black cammera positive to this red Reverse positive. I will be posting the pictures and descriprion of the install in this thread in the next couple of days,
                              http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...0&daysprune=-1.

I am very happy with the system and ordered mine after seeing Rogerthatv2's in the flesh. The install is relatively straight forward with plug and play and just a bit of extra time sorting out the camera. The functions all work well and the inclusion of a front camera switch on the front of the GXL units will have me running a camera to the front of the vehicle when it arrives. All in all a great upgrade from the factory unit.

I have also spoken to Asad today outlining my install and discussed the Pradopoint Discount for the GXL and VX replacement head units. He has advised that if you wish to purchase one of his units to contact him via email or phone and state that you are member of Pradopoint for purchases at the following Pradopoint pricing.

I am not affiliated with Asad or his company but like others on this forum I have utilised his product and have found him extremely helfpul. Like Daniel has mentioned in other posts the added benefit of 1 year warranty and dealing with a vendor in Aystralia was also important to me.
