    My names chris and this is my first landcruiser / prado and my first real 4wd (unless you include an early 90's bunky suzuki sierra.)

    She an all white, brand new 2011 petrol Landcuiser Prado GXL, ill post pics shortly. My hobbies camping, 4WD, and towed waterports, so all her modifications and uses will be inline with this. Obviously 4WD soecific works plus the ability to tow a light off road camper to a fully fueled 2.5 tonne ski boat.
    That said so far, she is as she left City Toyota some three weeks ago but have a few things in the works so far.

    * Uniden 6dB antenna

    INTERIOR
    * Fitted after market mats and liners (keep everything clean and tidy)

    EXTERIOR
    * Hayman Reece hitch (tow bar)
    * Auto cheap spotty bar, temperary mounting for antenna until bull bar fitted.
    * Basic debadge / clean up (Removed stickers and a couple of badges, to tidy up body work.
    * Tigerz11 full length tourer cage roof rack.
    * ARB Deluxe winch ready bullbar, colour coded.
    * Oztrail 2x2.5 easy awning. With fly wall and tent option.

      Sadly no. my preference was black or as damn near black as i could get dark silver as a last resort (to tell you the truth a have a thing against white 4wd owner's always said i would not be one...DOH!).

      Unfortunatley at the time the purchase was made with great haste, you see we had sold the mrs mobile and my previous car was getting on a bit in age and we were in need of somthing. The desiscion had been made some time ago to get a prado, the final walk in and walk out $$$$ lighter in the pocket however happend almost within a 24 hour window.

      When we went in there i was given three options.

      A) Take one of two demo models 6 months old, couple of 1000k's a piece in my choice of siver or blue (mind you the blue had toyota seasons greatings stickers all over and I MEAN ALL OVER. However i could have it that week and they would 'work a deal' !!

      B) Have any colour i liked brand spanking new but would go in a holding pattern till that particular colour got swapped out / arrived and i would no longer be entitled to a special deal i manged to swindle (as they would need to cover landing costs etc...)

      C) I could have the brand spanking new white one whcih they new for a fact was due two / three weeks from date paperwork, and since it was already on the way cost incured and dealt with i could have 'my special deal.'

      So preasures on sitting there missus giving me daggers, sales man rubbing his hands, my naughty devil on one shoulder telling me 'its okay follow your heart think of yourself only, be selfish, choose the colour you want and wait it out', meanwhile the little good angel is sitting on my other shoulder saying 'no be smart, be frugal think of the money, the deal, think of the missus and more importantly white has better resale....' by this point the angel started to resemble the father in law / brother in law both heavily involved in the motor industry and experts on matter beyond my "i just want to drive it."

      So.... i caved, i bought the white one. On the upside it cam in early and i drove it away within 4 days not 3 weeks. So now im a white 4wd owner at the end of the day by the time im finished with her she'll be red anyway (country dust) so not too bad.

              UHF added

              Woo hoo for my birthday this week the missus presented me with a brand spanking new UHF. Was going to install my old GME unit, but this one is much better.

              Uniden U7760NB, has 77 narrow band channels plus room for further expansion (future ready), all remote controller, 6dB antenna

              Here is my install, stole the idea from footoo's post in another thread.

              The unit itself mounted just so perfectly into the hollow on the left side of the kicker panel once the sound proofing was removed. A little bit of double sided tape means no holes, the added bonus being that the ariel lead comes through the wall directly behind it.

              The cables are then run through the centre console. At the moment the handheld lead is just poking out only just bottom as is the power cable (plugged into the lighter) however i will wire it in permanently to the cigarette lighter outlets power lead shortly and make an outlet for the handheld using one of the spare blanks next to the power / usb ports.

              NO handheld mount yet but thinking of double side taping just next to steering wheel similar to Sam's (hookedon4wding) http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...1/a4571584.jpg

              The antenna is currently mounted on a license plate mount, spotty bracket, bought from autocheap (auto one / supercheap). It is only temporary till i mount the bull bar

                  Nice build Fierce! Can I just clarify something? Have you put the UHF behind the kick panel on the passenger side? Any problems with audio clarity having it there?

                  I've got the same UHF but have it wedged in behind the A/C outlets under the dash and forward of the centre console. I'm just a bit concerned about heat destroying it there.

                    Under the glove box, is the kick panel that drops down with two screws. There is no problems with heat or sound it's perfect.

                        New addition although not really an addition to the prado itself, but the prado will tow it
                        Going to build something like this. A camper / toy hauler.

                        A little bit of this.

                        And here we go.

                              Okay been another long while since I've been on here. Sadly the now ex- missus wasn't too keen on pushing the prado too hard and hence didn't seem to see a need for upgrades.

                              Well now she is the the ex and I'm on a roll getting out and about and enjoying the prado. Also spending a fortune doing her up.

                              So since I was last on here I have added the following:
                              * - Arb front and rear recovery points.
                              * - Dual battery setup.
                              * - custom led lighting to awning.
                              * - TJM lift kit (55mm front - 65mm rear).
                              * - 12000lb winch
                              * - Recovery kit, maxtrax and compressor

                              Pictures to follow
