  • Looking to buy a 120 series

    hi,

I have been told by a colleague that someone we deal with is selling his 2004 120 Series Prado. I think its a diesel / auto - i think, need to confirm.

its done about 180ks, but apparently the owner is very fussy with it.

I have seen this car in the past and last time i saw it had roof racks and BFG A/T's on it.

The asking price is pretty good, (especially if its auto), and about what i have seen a similar KM Manual prado for sale in carsales for.

Just wondering people thoughts on the 120 with 180kms - is it a good buy?

Do they need a timing belt done at 200K? is there anything that I need to look out for?

im about to call the guy and get some more info on it.

    cheers,
    Smac

The 1KZ is a good motor. 180K km is nothing for diesels if it has been well taken care of.

      Smac,

If you are keen for a Dec'06 Petrol with only 112k kms with lots of extras, I may be keen to bring forward my purchase of the 150

              Amts,

PM sent. But you know the value of it has increase due to the AMTS bashplates, and also Amts tyre spacers

I have a 2004 Diesel auto just as you mentioned and it's one of the best cars I have ever had. It is not the D4D as that came in later. The timing belt is changed at 150,00km if done when the log book says so it should have been done. Check the Service Book. AND 180,000km is nothing for a diesel so check everything else as to whether it suits you.

Yeah, well it appears that those AMTS products have blown their budget.
