I should start out by saying that I will probably pay the $55, not for the percieved benifits it gives, as many of those benifits are things we have previously had and then removed, such as larger PM box and signature pictures which were lost when the forum was upgraded/downgraded? depending on your point of view. I would like to point out the following though.
I don't believe it was ever communicated to the general public that Tapatalk was only a trial, therefore many people are going to feel like they now have to pay for a previously free option. Personally, I have tapatalk, I don't like it, I don't use it, I dont intend to use it.
The most recent discusssion on the topic of paid membership I can recall was in this thread http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...hlight=members and this is a quote from Aaron in the last post just before the thread was locked, stopping any further discussion on the topic.
So paid membership options should be a huge surprise to everyone
Peterpilots post in this thread on the problems with threads is a great example of what I really would like to see come from paid membership. That is an Admin team that actually takes note of what the members concerns are, then either acts to rectify the problem or effectivly communicates why the issue cant be overcome.
Communication from the Admin team regarding issues seems to be eratic at best, the issue Peter highlighted was brought up in a thread only a few days ago, the thread was locked and no indication was given as to whether the situation was ever going to be adressed, yet it took Aaron 5 minutes to fix the problem!
The issue of what posts people have read and how they are highlighted has been an issue since the forum upgrade nearly a year ago, and I can't recall anyone letting Joe public know whether there is a solution in sight. If i don't pay then I can live with those issues as much as they annoy the shit out of me, If i am paying for PP, the very least I expect is the Admin team to communicate effectivly.
Cheers Andrew

Hi Everyone,
There will never be in the foreseeable future a paid membership model.
Leaving the forum open to view means we get more search traffic which means more people. Some will contribute, some won't.
Vbulletin has a membership option that removes ads which we may explore.
The supplier section will generate revenue and the ads will do the same.
As far as I'm concerned, that's sufficient.
Let's not revisit it all again.
Cheers,
Aaron
