Yes, but you need to positively identify the colour of the wires on pins 2, 5 & 8 first to be sure.

If pin 2 is white with black stripe, it is earth.
If pin 5 is grey or pink with blue stripe, it is the speedo signal.
If pin 8 is red with black stripe, it is power from ignition.

I can't clearly see the wires on pins 1 to 9 in your photos, so you need to identify the colours for yourself or post a photo like this:

        IL1 Connector Wiiring Diagrams

I've had another look at the wiring diagrams and can confirm that Pin 5 on the IL1 Connector is the speed sensor signal to the speedometer on all models. On the 1GR-FE models the wire to Pin 5 on the IL1 connector is pink with blue stripe. On all other models this wire is grey.

IL1 Pin 5 1GR-FE model pink with blue stripe speed sensor wire:

IL1 Pin 5 1KZ-TE model grey speed sensor wire (also applies to the 1KD-FTV model):

Pin 2 on the IL1 connector is ground and the wire is black with white stripe on all RHD models:

Pin 8 on the IL1 connector is ignition power and the wire is black with red stripe on the 1GR-FE:

The wiring diagram doesn't specifically show a wire on pin 8 for the 1KZ-TE (or the 1KD-FTV). If the wire is not present at pin 8 then an alternative 12V ignition power source will need to be found.

The other option is to use a scan gauge. That way if you decide to fit different tyres its just a simple adjustment while driving.
It has the option to adjust the speedo reding it displays. Set cruise to 100 from a GPS/iphone/iPad or all then adjust.
I use the speedo as a guide while on suburban streets but out on the open road then the scan gauge comes into play.

            Just a though.

I like a good thread dig.

I just installed the jaycar kit using the guide in the first post but didn't work. Speedo stopped working and check engine light came on (P0500)

Anyone have any input? I have a '04 petrol 5speed auto.

              TIA

There's some previous posts about a lot of kits not being compatible.

The Yellow box does work. And jaycar has been reported before as not working.

                      Guys,
I have followed for a while. never joined.
I just did this on a 2007 1GRFE and it worked to calibrate my speedo now I'm running 275/70R17s which made me do 20 faster at 100 than the speedo displayed.
I am running the REDARC Speedo calibrator, designed and made in Aus, it pretty much does all vehicles as it is capable of induction, hall effect, 5v in a massive adjustment. I have fitted it to 3 vehicles now. https://hmbe.com.au/speedometer-calibratior
                      (i have no commercial interest)

Reason for my post is the vehicles listed didn't go past 2005 and though I'd add it is accurate up to 2007 at least in 1GR-FE.
