Bearing in mind the problems people have had with sagging doors due worn hinges, if it hangs off the back tyre only I wouldn't do it.

This would only be used when door is closed so shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry, was meaning people complaining that just the weight of the tyre over corrugations was causing sagging. Mine has dropped over time by a slight amount and I haven't had it over any corrugations. Do I recall some have had cracking in the rear pillar skin around the hinges in 120 series or is my memory defective?

more ideal would be one supported in the hitch and hooks onto the roof rack. If it sat flush in the receiver than there would be no issue with departure angles.

I wouldnt hang anything on the back door closed or otherwise. My 120 door had dropped by 20mm.... i was constantly packing it out until i got a replacement door (lil accident when a tree touched the spare tyre, bent the door, smashed window ect...), the person who bought my 120 spent a bit of time on here reading about common problems and had a list of them to tick off as he went over my car, the back door droop was one of them and pleased to say mine was perfect with the new door.

I just open the door now and stand on the drawer system, it gets me up as high as standing on the spare would anyway and i can tell you that you dont want to have to replace a door in Toyota world prices.
