Anyone recommend some wheels that are mostly black, preferably in matte or satin.

have a pearl 150 altitude and love the look of dark tint, black bar, snorkel and mostly black wheels.

I looked through the wheels section of the 150 forum but not much in there as yet.

    cheers.

I Spotted these on a Rodeo today which caught my eye. I asked about them and the ones I saw were 17 x 9 +20 offset (unsure if they're any good for a 150?)

They are nice, CQ, mine came from Taleb Tyres in Sydney freighted to Brisbane for $200 a wheel, I am sure it would not be that much more to get them to Rocky.

What size and offset did you get them in? I want to put on my recently purchased cooper AT3's which are 265,65,17.

does 17x9 with an offset of 18 sound right. its what they recommended. straight on with no issues he promises :P

CQ, mine are 17x9 +18 offset, standard for a 150 is +25 so the 18 is just a little wider out, i also have 275 tyres on mine and still no issues. anything betweem +25 and +18 should be fine, u also only have 265 tyres which makes it even easier.

It depends on the size of the wheel though...

Sure your wheels only sit out an inch further than standard but you lose half an inch of clearance on the inside of the wheel.

With a 9inch wheel I'd be looking for a wheel with +6 offset or less to keep standard clearances.

Wooley, i am no wheel expert but the 9 inch wheels on mine and the standard wheels on my business partners prado have pretty much the same clearance to the upper control arm, what is different in how the tyre sits on the rim, mine with the 9inch rim the tyre sits a lot straighter in the sidewall, versus the standard rim their is a lot more bulge in the tyre as it is pulled in a little more.
The width of the tyre is still the same which is generally wider than the rim. With the 275 tyres i can put my fingers between the uper control arm and the tyre, with a 265 there should be at least another 5mm again. A +6 offset would push the tyre almost out past the guard. Mine are border line inside the guard with a plus 18offset and a 17x9inch rim and 275 tyre.

This is a great thread guys...

I wasn't really interested in getting new rims for my car, but with the look of your rig Hutch, and also Pussbus's Rig Build Up, the black rims are becoming really appealing to me. Iv'e also got the crystal pearl paint, and with the black rims with dark tint I think it will look hot.
I would probably stick with the 18" rims though.

Maybe people could post some after market wheel photo's on here or in a new thread to show us future wheel buyers?

                        Cheers,
