Just to close this matter out.

The Prado was returned to the TJM dealership and they couldn't/didn't align the bar to remove the large gap from the left front. Apparently it was the best alignment possible. The store manager suggested that the vehicle was not square.

Lastly as Roo suggested, buy the bar and have it sprayed by a reputable spray painter and fit the bat yourself.

That is really poor form by TJM Maroochydore...

Very bad customer service. If I were you, I would send them a letter and let them know of your disapproval and send a copy to TJM head office at Geebung.

I feel sorry for you Nath.

      Cheers,

      Jeff

hmmm and i was going to get one of there bars as i was quoted $900 for a 120 gx bar at underwood. Makes me wonder if its worth it now. Jeffers go to arb cooper plains and see matt mason, i know him personally and is a good bloke will do everything to help you!

If it's the T13 you want I'd recommend Brendale branch. Seems to be a few pp members who have had work done there that was a quality job and fair price.

As for underwood, it is owned by the same person as coopers plains. Same story for nerang too.

If you want to stick with TJM gear then go and see Darren and his team at TJM Brendale, I use them for my own rig as well as work stuff. Always there to help.

it is possible for the car to be off centre, i have heard of this happening, especially when the chassis and body are two seperate components.

It took me until Thursday to stop by and collect the small refund offered on the work done to my car. Luck would have it another nasty rattle showed up on the way home from Coopers Plains. Inner guards are rubbing on the bar a little so I thought I'd start with inspecting and sorting that noise. Should have been pretty easy to fix.

Popped the clips off and pulled the inner guard out a bit and took one look at the snorkel from under the guard and knew where the major rattle was coming from.

Out with the dual battery and this is what I see. Coopers Plains bodgy work strikes again!

The silicone was obviously doing a good job of keeping it all together. Tried to undo it but it's loose because it's cross threaded and has never been screwed up tight. Nut in the snorkel spins in the plastic so you can't get the bolt out.

Will be requesting brand new snorkel and fitting myself. :-(

Mmm, here's something food for taught, I went into tjm to get a quote for snorkel, dual batter and bullbat with kits, while they were doing up the quote somebody walked in and dropped a set of keys on the counter, saying the battery had died again after his dual battery was done... Guess what I did.... Off to ARB... Couldn't be happier....

I am currently working things through with TJM HO. As the chassis was drilled during the installation process, any redrilling of the chasis in the close vacinity will impact the structural integrity.

Update: I was called by the dealer and advised that chassis was not drilled and that the only drilling was between the mount kit and bullbar. I was also advised that the coating thicknesses quoted previously must be incorrect as powder coating is much thicker.

Chassis was drilled during the install process???? WTF?

I installed my TJM T13 myself, there is no drilling required? WTF is wrong with these guys?

This is VERY poor, I wonder what the "on-boarding / validation" process is for TJM dealerships? (if any)
Any training modules? Installation best practices and validation / sign off?
Any "Channel / Dealer" Rep's? working through the dealerships for Quality Checks?
Maybe call a few customers and get some feedback?

I love my T13 bar, and am Sooo Glade I did the install myself. WIll be the same when I get the AirTec Snorkel.

I feel for you Nath, get stuck into them.

My saga is ongoing. Sounds like the replacement parts are getting ordered.

I was asked to provide the vehicle so they could fit the parts. I refused on the grounds that they have already stuffed my vehicle enough. Just can't trust their work.

You make some good points Bernie. Very easy to see there is little in checks and measures for who is given a dealership, or the ongoing standard of work is never checked. Not good for the brand.

Good products fitted in shoddy manner = customers not happy with the brand in the end

I'll do it myself Rob. Just feel like ensuring with my own eyes that is it correctly done.

Will talk to your mate at Brendale for anything else though. Definitely feel my experience would be completely different had i have driven that little bit further to get the job done there.
