On the Grande it doesn't have to be due to the self levelling and the ability to raise it some more. 20mm should be fine.

Ahh ok, so say 6mm worth of washers should be sufficient then?

I must be driving you mad with questions....sorry....

The height sensors have a sliding adjustment on them. Loosen the nut and then slide it up and see what height you get. You then use washers to trim the height further if required.

Thanks amts, just completed a lower control arm replacement and upgraded to King kftr101t springs with a 10mm sensor trick on the rear airbags.
For general interest the ride and feel of these springs is excellent. Not harsh and maintains a firmish original ride (when combined with ARB bullbar, winch, dual batteries.).
my front had dropped to 715mm - now 775mm.
Rear was at 780 now at 810mm.
Rake is no longer like an F1...
Just got back from a drive from se qld to bathurst and back and wouldnt part with my airbags and especially not my tems shockies which allow to dial the perfect ride.

Is it OK to just upgrade the front springs and not the shocks? I am trying to get my front end back to "original ride height" after fitting ARB bar and bash plate (and plans for a winch and second battery). I am not after a lift or anything but after the front end upgrades the ride height has dropped to 735mm at the front (back is at 780mm). Would anybody recommend a particular spring to solve the above issue?

            Cheers,

Front has only dropped 5mm. If you like, you can go for King KTFS-101

Thanks for the quick response amts,

What height theoretically should that spring bring my front end up to as it is a standard height spring? (Considering that there is currently bar work, bash plate, and lights. And plans for 2nd battery and winch in about 12 months time). Is this particular spring a heavier spring rate than factory and can handle the additional weight up front? Or should I go a raised spring and let it sag a bit with the extra weight to bring it to a "normal" height? I would like it to be around 760mm (not sure what standard height would have been - my measurements are from wheel arch to bottom rim).

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for any info provided

                Cheers,

                  Stock height is 740(f)/780(r).
The King KTFS-101 gives about 25mm lift.
Usually, you would do the suspension last after the major accessories have been fitted. Your current heights are OK for now. You want approximately 30-40mm of rake.

Just put the KTFS-101's in today, made a big difference. Ride height measured before was 720mm and is now just under 750mm. I suspect a little more settling will happen in the next few days then will get a wheel alignment done. Happy days! Thanks amts for your info.

Hey guys, just wanted to post that I have also upgraded my Grande with Amts conversion springs and couldn't be happier with the result. My driver side airbag perished and after a lot of back and forth messages with Andrew I decided to take them out and go with his springs. I ended up going with Bilstein shocks and struts with King Springs for the front.

                              Front: D563/KTFR-101
                              Rear: 24-238830/AMTS 120 ABHD

End result has the Prado sitting @
                              Front: 825mm
                              Rear: 855mm

                              *Edit*
Lowered strut spring seat to lowest setting, now sitting @
                              Front: 810mm
                              Rear: 855mm

AMTS. I am about to replace all of my suspension with the group buy. I will be getting the struts fully assembled and leaving the old ones the same way. That being the case I was wondering if Step 9 [ the 2 nuts beside the castellated nut on the LCA] is still necessary or will the struts go in and out without this step? Thanks.
