So the centre radiator support bracket has been removed judging by the pics? Nice job. Just fitted my Hilux scoop and she goes in for paint on Monday, hopefully it will be dry by the time I leave for the GTG. Maybe they can do a bigger intercooler for the top of the motor?

Bugger Bali, get out and see Australia before we sell it all to China.
Deffinately cant fault Cross Country's work. I had their Ultimate Intercooler on my GU Ute with the thermo fans underneath pulling air through. Bloody awesome product and after sales service. The quality of workmanship is top class. I'll def be using them again when the need arises.
The setup on your truck looks awesome,,,,youve gotta be a happy man
Not 100% on what the cost would be for other pp members, but I will give Jon a call on Monday and ask the question! My prado was the first they had done, and as such the R&D took some time as the boys worked out how they were going to build the kit.
I am under the impression the the kit will be available for both DIY install or by Cross Country 4x4.
I honestly hadn't thought of the flow on effects of a heat soaked top mounted intercooler and it's affect on the engine... So good to know that I'll likely see an improvement there!!!
Very happy with the result. Cross Country 4x4 certainly know what they are doing!!!

My mate put a Cross Country top mount Inter Cooler in his 4.2 GU, and the difference was amazing! Such a big, heavy truck like car now keeps up pretty well with my D4D, which makes me want more power again! Can't have the GU keeping up with me.
Look forward to having a perv at the G2G mate... if you could help me out and sell it to the misses for me that would be great.
Looks great Matty - but I haven't read anywhere what the 'feel' of it is to drive with this front mounted cooler. You probably haven't done much driving, granted, but have you noticed any positive effects just driving around town? (more responsive etc...)
When we do the border track on the GTG, I'm going to hook my camper up to your car
I'm hooking my trailer to my D4D to his car. The cooler is the first mod, the others will turn the "black shopping trolley" into a total beast.
I can see it now, Loz will have a collection of speeding fines for Matt every time he returns from the fishing trips.

Opposite Lock SA, at St Marys in South Australia, one of the sponsors of the 2012 GTG, provided a Tunit chip for the big trip which had a custom tune on it to suit the FMIC as opposed to the original top mount.
The chip was fitted in the Loxton Caravan park after the bendleby section of the GTG by Rob, with a little assistance from myself and a few of the pradopoint crew (THSWYUP, ondaboat, sapradogxl & weasel4x4).
The rig was taken for a test run with the Tunit chip set at 6. Dodgey Dave (sapradogxl) in the passenger seat commented that the D4D felt like the petrol under acceleration! No signs of black smoke from the standard exhaust were observed.
The following day, after making our way onto the border track and encountering the first few dunes, we decided to knock it up to setting 8, just to "see what it could do". Rob from Opposite Lock SA, brought out the tools and wound her up!
Still no signs of smoke, over all I think the system is performing well - there is a potential for more out of the D4D I think with a larger exhaust and a potential for a higher tune again. The EGT gauge will easily reach the 650 deg. C mark and must be monitored under heavy acceleration. But this could be assisted with the fitment of a larger exhaust, possibly straight through in a similar fashion to Brett's silver 150.
IMHO, i think the high flow intercooler is doing its job and getting more air to the engine... Still no chance for a second dyno test with the corrected AFR. And I will have to get off my back side now the GTG is over and upload the original dyno sheet from the intercooler installation.
