  • Quotes from the SA GTG

There were plenty of quotes and comments coming over the 2 - way during our daily drives that we should probably share with those who didn't attend. I'll start off with a couple:

MLC: Watch out for the nasty root on the left. BB replied: That's no way to talk about the woman in your passenger seat. And BB again: The last nasty root I had left me with a rash. MLC then comments how his left arm is hurting.

Mrs MLC: Keep coming, I'm not finished yet.
    Dave

Ursos stopped to adjust a strap on his roof rack, Barajak who was tail end went past until radio communication was getting faint so stopped for them to catch up.

Ursos: I think we are getting close as I can see the sun reflecting of your rear window.

Mrs barajak: No thats just me bending over!

And we thought she was such a dignified lady

    Cheers Andrew

As a committee member we had to lead a number of the trips. Lea was my fantastic navigator and when I was busy driving I asked her to explain the track we had just driven. On one occasion she described the beach as "firm but bouncy". Rather apt and easily understood by all male drivers as a bit of the beach they couldn't wait to drive!

Late on the second day at the Bendlebys after the group photo a few of us were checking out sore and sorry Dodgy Dave's rooted MT ATZ after he had put a near 2 inch gash in the side wall. We were commiserating him and the fact he'd just junked a near new $400 tyre when Hibbo walks up and says

" So Dave, how do you rate the Mickey Thompsons........when they have air in them?"

Towards the start of the Border Track on the first day in Ngarkat.

Rev:Tthis is pretty tame so far, maybe we should get you SA guys up to QLD so we can show you what soft sand is really like.

              Down the track a bit:

              Snatch recovery failed!
              Winch recovery failed!

Rev backed down the dune and took the chicken track

Said nightly as the mlc team paraded past the collection jar depositing $1 each and said best by Benjie: "What happens on the track, stays on the track"

Not much point trying to convince people none of the "occurrences" were actually my idea. Like people are going to believe that even if it IS the truth....

Hey AJ120,,,,,,,,,Glad to see that you now know the difference between Bogged and forward momentum being stopped.

Even if we did have to explain it a couple of times to you.

If you can't go forwards, you are bogged!! (Says AJ120)

Don't worry about the fact that you can reverse out, totally unassisted.

Can someone translate? I think this must be the northern dialect.
